Even though this fishing kit comes with a TON of gear, I DID Fully inspect All the included items!! I’m impressed with the quality of the included hooks as they’re Sharp and have sturdy eyelets for your line to be tied to. The assortment/variety of weights is also impressive as you can learn how to use/make several different rigs for fishing in plenty of different situations/locations. The included fish lip gripper Isn’t overly aggressive which is EXACTLY what anyone should be Happy to Use. Sometimes lip grippers are way too tight and tend to really harm a given fish, But not the one that’s included in the kit! The included pliers(compact version)are surprisingly good and they even have a built in clasp to keep them closed while not in use! One item that’s included in this kit and maybe easy to overlook is the fact the kit comes with a Comprehensive Booklet! The booklet goes over a TON of fishing gear rigging and specifically focuses on the gear that’s included in this kit. The booklet includes written info but as well showcases a given piece of gear with detailed pictures showing how to make a given rig/setup. The booklet is PERFECT for a parent(Or Anyone)to use to help them when introducing a young one or anyone into the wonderful world of fishing! The main/majority of the fishing gear comes in a well made sturdy storage case! Fishing tackle is stored on each side of the case making it handy to keep track of all the gear. Where I grew up, I am what you'd call a bank fisherman. I love to stake out a shady spot on the bank and try my luck at catching some delicious panfish like sunnies, crappies, and bluegills. Unfortunately, I lose as much tackle as I lose golf balls, so my tackle box needed a refresh, and boy does this kit hit the bullseye! I love the sheer volume of fishing goodies and the ability to build jigs and lures to my heart's content. The gear is very nicely packaged in a two-sided compartmentalized plastic box with locking latches. I like seeing the contents through the translucent top before opening the lid. Once inside, the array of fishing components is impressive. On top of the quantity, the quality looks excellent. Rounding things out are the following items: pliers, fish lip grips (my first exposure to this tool), two red and white bobbers, and a box of small fishhooks ideal for my panfish needs. The tools and hooks are high-quality, while the bobbers are a little cheaper-looking. Then, there is the instruction book. My old standby fishing rig is a piece of bologna or a worm on a hook with a bobber, so fancy lures are not an area of expertise. But I aim to change that with this kit and instructions. The instruction booklet is well done and provides nice graphics to accompany the text. Even though the open-water fishing season is over, winter is rapidly approaching, and I plan to build some lures and jigs to try my luck at ice fishing for the first time. This is a very good kit for a starter, or someone who just occasionally goes freshwater fishing. It includes pretty much everything you need, except for a rod and reel. It would also work to take when you have limited space, such as a backpacking or camping trip. The only thing you might want to add is a case (hard or soft) of some sort that will hold all the items, as the case that is included contains only the items shown in it, with no room for the other things included in the set, or additional items like lures. The other thing I would add is a couple of sturdy elastic bands to ensure the cases can't be easily knocked open. (Pic 4 shows one around the larger case.) The two tools included seem to be surprisingly good for this low-priced set. The real gem included may be the little instruction booklet. It's cleanly printed, and not in "mouse type" too tiny to read without a magnifying glass. It clearly covers the basic fishing knots needed, and how to set up line, weights, hooks & etc. for various fishing rigs. I'm putting this in a zip-bag for protection, and keeping it with the kit. ... show more

I mostly got this for the case, pliers, weights, and fish grabber. The variety of hooks and rigs is a plus. Lost 1 star due to too many small tiny hooks being part of the item count.

This fishing accessory kit, priced around thirty dollars at the time of the review, is a good deal for someone who wants to round out their tackle kit with items specifically tailored to smaller fish. A wide assortment of clamp-on weights and tiny hooks are provided, as well as a selection of medium-small hooks. For someone who has their own rod and reel, and maybe a limited general purpose starter kit, this tackle box full of items, will enable you to go after river, dock, or shore fish. This kit is not meant for sea fishing, or even deep dock fishing, as everything is on the small side. I disgorged all the items and integrated them into my own fishing tackle kit. The green tabbed smoke colored translucent plastic box that the items came in makes a handy day fishing box, where I can take out a few items from my main kit, and use this single small box for my fishing trip. The hook holder foam mat in the back is very handy for carrying flies for fly fishing. The extra box of tiny hooks is also handy to have, thought I double I will ever use some of the smaller ones.
