  • Smiles all around ☺️
Pattern Name: box
I had a few motivators to purchase this item for my six year old son. 1) A reward for not trying to get sent home from school early by making up excuses to see the nurse. 2) As a bonus while celebrating his kindergarten graduation. 3) To open up a discussion about about another culture in a fun way that easy for a child to relate to. All goals were not only met, but exceeded. Pros: •The presentation and box is very cute and attractive. •Complete list of names and descriptions in English made it much easier for my son to look forward to participating. •Lots of variety with sweet, salty, savory, sour, etc., kept us born interested. •The snacks were high quality and tasted absolutely delicious. •We enjoyed almost every option. The fried cod sticks were the only ones we couldn't, but our cats were more than happy to make sure they weren't wasted. •Snacks were the perfect sizes for both my son and I to try them. •While he tried each goodie I was able to share a different fun fact about Japanese culture. The tasty treats put him in such a good that he even asked follow-up questions! •Fun, creative, and educational activity to spend a little extra time with the kids. •By discussing the culture, people, and accomplishments of the country over something as simple and engaging as candy, I was able to negate some some very harsh, biased, and false statements that were recently shared with him in anger and ignorance. Cons: •Will make you want to buy more. •You'll develop new cravings for snacks that aren't avaliable at the nearest convenience store. •A fun, new way to fail your diet. •Would make for a terrible gift. It's so good you wouldn't want to give it away. Your only option would be to buy two so that you can gift one while also keeping one. Never mind....it would be the perfect gift so long as you got two....you know, for quality control. And the price is definitely reasonably enough to do so. ... show more

  • We absolutely loved these snacks from Japan!
Pattern Name: box
I recently purchased the Japanese Snack and Sweets Box for my 14-year-old son, who is autistic and has a deep fascination with snacks from different cultures around the world. He absolutely loved these snacks from Japan! Every item was fresh, delicious, and truly authentic. The variety kept him excited to try each one, and it was a wonderful way to explore the unique flavors of Japanese cuisine. The English information pamphlet included was a thoughtful touch, making it easy to understand each snack. Whether you're buying for yourself or as a gift, this box is a perfect way to experience the essence of Japanese snacks. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Good variety but the snack portions were small
Pattern Name: box
Most of the items were yummy. However, they were small portions. For the price I would have expected more.

  • Disappointed
Pattern Name: box
We were excited to receive this box and some of the items were great. SOME items weren't even supposed to be there. Like sardine sticks replaced something else. I'd say this was falsely represented because of the changes of products in the box. Some items we didn't know what they were because nothing matched the pamphlet. Overpriced because you don't get what you pay for. ... show more

  • All the packages are tiny….but
Pattern Name: box
Ok, so I was bummed when I first saw the box because it is pretty small. However when you open it up, it’s packed full. Yes the pieces are small and some are super tiny (gum, a square of chocolate, etc) but it was a lot of fun and neat to experience snacks from another side of the world. I’m not sure how often these snacks are consumed in Japan but they’re a lot of fun. I love How the packages are so animated and colorful. I tried These with my 13 yr old and he liked a few of them. Just waiting for my 11 yr old to wake up so we can try others too. There is a large variety of candy, some flavors I’ve never had. This is a lot of fun and a splurge item. If you can, it would be fun to make an evening of these with like authentic Japanese food for dinner and this for dessert. The packages are small but after you’ve taken a bite out of 10 of them, they don’t seem so small. If you’re on the fence, give it a go, we weren’t disappointed. I also Love that they give a guide as to what it is and how it’s supposed to be eaten/drank etc. In my photo, that is not all the snacks. We had already opened up and tried quite a few. ... show more

  • Do not waste your money
Pattern Name: Gift Box
I recently purchased a bag of assorted Japanese candy from Amazon, and I must say, it has been a complete disappointment. To put it bluntly, what I received bears no resemblance to what was advertised. It's nothing short of a rip-off, and I feel like I've wasted my hard-earned money. I had high hopes for this purchase, as I was planning to give it to my sister as a special birthday gift. The product description and images on the Amazon listing were enticing, promising a delightful assortment of Japanese treats that would bring a smile to her face. However, what I received was far from it. The quality of the candy was subpar, and it felt like a mishmash of random, low-quality sweets that had no place in a gift. Adding to my disappointment, the variety of candies was severely lacking. It didn't come close to the diverse assortment that was advertised. Instead, it seemed like a haphazard collection of generic candies that you could find at any corner store. To make matters worse, I discovered that I can't even return this product. It's disheartening to think that I'm stuck with a bag of unappealing candy that I had hoped would make my sister's birthday special. I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing this assortment of Japanese candy to think twice and explore other options. It's not worth the money at all, and there are undoubtedly better ways to surprise someone with a thoughtful gift. Overall, this purchase has left me deeply disappointed, and it's unfortunate that my sister won't get the delightful Japanese candy experience I had envisioned for her special day. Amazon should take a closer look at the sellers they allow on their platform to ensure customers don't fall victim to misleading product listings like this one. ... show more
