I am super picky about my coffee. Not only do these filters pass my flavor test, they also pass my durability test. These hold up unlike some others. I can pull the filter out while wet without fear of it tearing. I have only used in a drip coffee maker, so I cannot speak to the pour overs. But my coffee maker has a shower head spout and therefore operates like a pour over so I feel that these would produce the proper rate of flow for those in need of a pour over filter. ... show more

These filters are OK, not fantastic. They do have a tab for getting hold of them. But they seem to be a lot thinner and flimsier than the Melita filters I usually buy. I'll use them, so long as they don't tear (which they did not when I tried one), but I will probably not go with them again.

I am pleased with these #4 unbleached paper coffee filters by GoodCups. The filters have no unusual / unpleasant odors, and produce a good cup of coffee with no fine grounds passing through. The little tabs on the filters make it easier to remove one, and easier to open. Importantly, the crimps at the bottom and side of the filters are secure; I have had no blow-outs, though I do always fold the filter at both the bottom and side crimps, just for an extra measure of safety. ... show more

These seem to be made out of the same strong paper that any other name brand or store brand filters that I've bought. They held up well to the filtering process and produced a good cup of coffee. I did not notice a paper taste coming from these that some critics of unbleached paper filters have maintained they experience. They can always be washed before using like some people do. I do like unbleached paper products just for the fact that there are no harmful chemicals used just to turn them white. I have two filter machines, one uses the basket style filters, I've never understood why cone shaped filters have to be more expensive than the basket ones, but those are available very cheap at the club warehouse stores. These cone filters are a little more expensive than their rival brands of cone filters ... show more

Except for the small thumb tab on the top that allows you to easily open the coffee filter, I did not see any major difference between this #4 coffee filter and the ones that I've been using. This coffee filter is very thin compared to others I have used. They seem to work well in spite of the thinness, but they are NOT a value at almost 10 cents per filter.

These are great coffee filters and work well. I really like that they have the extra tab sticking up on one side so it is easy to open up the filter. Sometimes that can be difficult if the paper is stuck together and my sleepy just awake hands can't get it apart. Silly problem maybe, but coffee difficulties in the morning are just not acceptable lol! ... show more
