This has come in handy every week since I got it- it's durable, not too tall and wide enough for me at 200 lbs to get up on it and get the work done. I have been able to hang strip lights along the ceiling/wall intersection in an orderly and even pattern without issue, and I'm now able to get up and remove the light fixture housing in my closet to change the light bulbs. I was even able to fix my bathroom fan using this step ladder! This probably shouldn't be used for people who are over 300 lbs or who plan to do heavy work- it's not so durable I would bring it to a construction site or use it for cleaning gutters. I’m 5’3”, so I need a boost to access stuff on top shelves and to clean high places. I’ve been using a little folding step stool that has two steps, and I thought this one might be handier. My problem is that I don’t have a lot of space, and I like to have my little ladder handy. This one folds down to two inches, so it fits easily behind my coat closet door, and it gives me just one step higher than my old one without being so bulky I have to keep it in the garage. It’s lightweight and easily to “flip” open. It’s quite sturdy. In fact, the day it arrived, two of our smoke alarms decided to go kerflooey, so my husband was up and down that ladder more times than he liked to sort them out.     • Sturdy compact ladder, very easy to carry.
I bought this to use upstairs at our house to change light bulbs and smoke detector batteries without having to lug a ladder up and down stairs. This works perfect for me. It is very sturdy to be so compact and it opens and closes very easily without having to mess with the hinges (and pinch your fingers). It folds up in a very small form factor too. I have used this several times over the last week for painting projects and I don't feel super safe on this particular step ladder. I have another one from a big box hardware store that I prefer. It is easy to fold and store and it's fairly lightweight but the steps are not very side, just barely wide enough for two feet and if you step back on the step too far, it will flip! Also, the legs kind of shift as you are walking up the steps and feels rickety. ... show more

This ladder is well made and seems to be really sturdy. I'm on the short side and my house was designed for someone much taller than me so there are a lot of shelves that are out of reach without a little extra boost in height. I have a Cosco 2 step ladder in the kitchen broom closet that gets used at least once a day for something or other. But when I am downstairs or in the garage, I have to go get the ladder and carry it down the steps. I got this to put downstairs for when I need a step ladder there. It folds up quite flat so it will fit about anywhere when not in use. The steps are 8 x 12" and the top step is 26-1/2" from the floor. Since it doesn't have a handle like the Cosco ladder, it can feel a little uncomfortable standing on the top step without something to hold on to, but it is quite solid and stable, and the steps are big. Since the legs extend out the same length on the front and back, it is best to turn it sideways if you're trying to get to a high cabinet shelf. Otherwise you won't be able to get close enough. In the middle of a room, like for changing a light bulb, it works really well. ... show more
