My only complaint is that they smelled toxic, like chemicals, maybe turpentine. I hand washed them (twice) with gentle laundry detergent and let them air dry and whatever was on them washed off and I was able to use them with my chicks. I kept this on the brooding plate until they were 4 weeks. Probably longer than needed but they seemed to like playing in and with the feathers and it was absolutely adorable to see them poke their little heads out from between the feathers. I would argue that they definitely felt safer being able to hide behind the feathers. ... show more

I like that they came in a 4 pack. I was able to use this one pack for my 1st ever round of chicks. They’ll be moving to a big coop soon. All but this last one they are in lasted a couple of weeks at a time. Now they are bigger and pulling feathers out. Overall I think it added some security for the chicks to huddle under the heat plate. It’s a comfort to them. ... show more

My daughter asked for these and she liked them when she opened them so I guess they're a good product. She raises chickens but I do not so I have no idea about them. The feather were intact and they fit her heater.

I bought the 12 x 12 and tied it around my 10 x 10 chick heating plate. It goes all the way around, instead of just 3 sides. Chicks love these feathers! And I got 4 sets for the price it would’ve cost me for 1 set (from other brands).
