  • Versatile
I got these for my kayak so I can put it on top of my truck instead of on my truck bed and they're great because you can just use them on your hood or in your doors and you've got a tie down. And then I realized I can use them for a lot more than that. I have a tonneau cover on my truck and when it is loaded down with my camping gear and I put the rest of it on the top I can use these to hold my net and then it's all secured on top of the tonneau. SPECIAL NOTE: As an approved Amazon Vine member, I am trusted to select items for review (sometimes from a list of almost 100,000 options). Many of these items are new to the market, or a seller simply wants some additional exposure for their product. I am NOT required to review every item in exchange for receiving and trying it out. I only order products that are important to me (ones I know I have an interest in and will use), and always strive to provide an honest evaluation of my experience. I do not automatically give a 4- or 5-star review, because the community of Amazon purchasers deserve to know real thoughts and experiences. So, my reviews are always and only based on my use and testing of the product. In that you can trust 100%. It's also important to note that I pay almost 30% in federal income taxes for each item that I receive, whether I review it or not. ... show more

  • Well made
The units are well made and sewn. I have a double handle on the back of my canoe instead of a single center handle. I put one around each of the handle and put the two grips together and can now lift the back with a single center lift. The webbing appears to be good quality. The handles are faux carbon - made to look like carbon, but are plastic - good quality plastic by their feel. The webbing is sewn with a loop at the bottom, so you can pass the end with the loop through something and then push the handle through the loop to attach the webbing. The hole is the right size - big enough to fit the handle without fighting it, but not so big that you feel the handle would ever slip back out by accident. I think these will last weel, based on initial impressions. If you need something like this, go for it. ... show more

  • Make tying down easier, but stitching could be more robust
These anchors make it easy to secure tie-down straps to the hood and lift gate of your vehicle. Previously I’d been trying to loop part of my tie-down straps around the hood latch or lift gate latch, but that wasn’t always easy, and could cause damage to the straps if I accidentally got it caught in the latch. These anchors can be closed under the hood or lift gate so you don’t have to wrap anything around the latch. The anchors are working great for now, but I wish they were sewn a little more robustly. To form the strap loops on the anchor, there is just a small overlap stitched with zig-zag stitching hidden inside the plastic part of the anchor. I would have rather seen a larger overlap with more stitching. Having the overlap exposed instead of hidden inside the plastic anchor would also make it easier to monitor for wear. ... show more

  • Simple yet became a game changer for transporting my large kayaks.
These straps have been a fantastic addition to my kayaking gear! My stock kayak handles are parallel to the stern and bow and are quite short, causing my 98 lb kayak to rest on my thigh and throw off my balance when carrying it. With these new straps, the reach is extended, making it much more comfortable to carry. The straps are durable, easy to use, and never slip, even when my hands are wet. If you're a kayaker looking for a simple and affordable solution to improve your carrying experience, these are a must-have! ... show more

  • sturdy anchor points, comfortable carry grips
These tie downs/carry handles are adaptable for a variety of purposes to give a nylon loop to securely anchor something you are tying down to your vehicles' roof. The plastic tube handle is placed inside the door/trunk/hood or wherever there is space upon closure (for example, due to the design of my hood, it fits only on the sides, not along the front edge), and leave the nylon loop hanging outside. It should close freely, keeping the anchor secure, and have a little loop hanging out. The strap was sufficiently long for it to hang out the edge, even with our thicker truck door and a deeper recess in the hood. A shorter strap probably wouldn't work for us. Alternatively, looping through as shown in the product video, this can serve as a carry handle as well. Over they are great and serve the purpose well and are sturdy. Good product. ... show more

  • Good Upgrade
Great upgrade from the ones on the kayak. Can also be used to tie down on your vehicle. You get 4 of them so you can easily use two to tie down and two to attach to your kayak. Definitely worth the money.

  • Indispensable if you kayak
Great product for creating tie-down points on a vehicle. Wish I had these when I used to haul my kayak on my SUV because it was a challenge securing the back. If I had had these, I could have just shut them inside the gate. And, of course you can use it as a handle. I think if you haul anything, actually, these could come in handy in so many ways. My one concern is that there is only one line of stitching where the strap joins inside the handle. I'll be keeping a close eye on it and checking before each trip. These kinds of straps can tend to wear under hard use, under pressure, in the wind, etc. But they are priced in line with, or below other similar type products on the market, so I won't be upset if they need to be replaced in a few years. ... show more

  • Happy with the straps
I kayak a lot. If someone is transporting kayaks on top of a vehicle, bow and stern lines are a MUST. Strapping them just to the roof rack is just asking for major problems as I have seen roof racks ripped off cars when someone didn't use bow lines. These straps are perfect for a quick and easy way to use bow lines. Just close them under the hood and trunk and you're good to go. They seem nice and sturdy. Will be placing a softer cloth over them so they don't rub the paint of the car though as they vibrate in the wind. ... show more
