Description

Waterproof, sterile barrier: protects the I.V. site or wound from external contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, blood and body fluids. Breathable film lets oxygen in and moisture vapor out. Just the right balance in adhesive strength: Tegaderm Brand dressings are made with a hypoallergenic, latex-free adhesive that is gentle to the skin yet securely holds catheters and other devices in place. Conformable: dressing flexes with skin for greater patient comfort. Description 2-3/8 inch x 2-3/4 inch (6cm x 7cm) Transparent Film Dressing Frame Style Extended Description Tegaderm Brand transparent dressings can be used to cover and protect catheter sites and wounds, to maintain a moist environment for wound healing, and to secure devices to the skin. In vitro testing shows that the transparent film provides a viral barrier from viruses 27 nm in diameter or larger while the dressing remains intact without leakage. Suggested Applications Clean, closed surgical incisions Abrasions, skin tears, blisters Skin graft donor sites Superficial partial thickness burns Stage I or II pressure ulcers Autolytic debridement facilitated by the moist wound healing environment Protective eye coverings Post tattoo application and removal.

I need these to cover an infusion site and these definitely get the job done. I put a small square of guaze over my site and wear it all day/all night long. Sometimes even longer than a day. They stay on and never peel off. I have only tried them in the shower one time but it did not stay. When it got wet, the edges started to peel off and then it eventually fell off before I was even done in the shower. I feel like you would need to put multiple Tegaderms over the site to prevent it from coming off in the shower. And that to me sounds like a waste and you will likely burn through them quickly. If you're specifically looking for an adhesive dressing to cover something to prevent it from getting wet, I would recommend searching "Stretch Adhesive Bandages Transparent Film Dressing" on amazon. They have them in all different sizes and they work much better in the shower or when getting wet. But if you're looking for something to just simply protect throughout the day, this is perfect. I will always use these for daily use. They never make me itch like other adhesives do. ... show more

It's authentic Tegaderm, the same as I get from medical supply companies. I always like to keep spares on hand, because it's really easy to mess up with Tegaderm and bunch it up -- which of course means you have to toss it out and start over. The price is competitive, the product is exactly as expected, and it works well. One tip for people that are new to using Tegaderm: If you need to cut it keep at least one of the tabs. If you cut off both tabs it becomes an absolute pain to work with. Use sharp scissors and cut quickly. If you don't it'll start to bunch up and stick the blades of your scissors. ... show more

I have to use these every few days and I've tried many other brands that either give me an allergic reaction or just don't stick the 3 days I need them to. These always stay put from showering to swimming in the ocean. Just be careful if you use lotion or baby oil. Your edges can lift.
