  • Easy to use
I bought two packages of this line for my son to do some wrap work on his car. He said he really likes it. It is easy to use and the out come is perfect, cutting fine lines in the wrap. It does take a little bit of practice but after a couple times using it, it is very nice. A good product.

  • Does the job
I bought this to do a chrome delete on my car and I had zero experience using it beforehand. TL:DR: It works well, but you have to have patience and consider some things like placement. Take your time, breathe, and think about what you're doing. I would recommend this. It can take a while to place this tape properly. You'll want to extend the tape at least a few inches beyond the wrap so that you can grab it easily. When you're getting ready to start pulling to make the cut, it helps if you hold down on the vinyl so that it doesn't start to peel back and/or bunch up, because it might cause the string in the tape to break if you have to pull too hard. If that happens, you either have to redo it or pull from the other side. Take the time to apply this properly. I tried to put it down a few millimeters from the actual edge of where I wanted the cut. This allowed the wrap to shrink down to the right size when I applied heat to it. You might have to apply some of the green portion over parts that you are intending to wrap in order to get the string where you want it, and that's fine. Just remember that after you pull the string, to remove the green leftover part of the tape from underneath the wrap on the car before you apply heat to it. Going around sharp corners can be tough, like on U-shaped pieces of trim. On the first side of the vehicle, I skipped using the tape because I didn't think I could get it to work right in the corner, so I had to cut it with a knife, which was terrible. So on the second side, I used the tape, and it ended up tearing the wrap a little to which I had to apply a small, almost unnoticeable patch. Overall, I would definitely recommend this. It helps you avoid using a knife for cutting the wrap (or your trim). ... show more

  • Better Than An Exacto
Arrived in good order. Perfectly straight, no issues. If you need to cut vinyl and are worried about knife marks or gouges, you NEED this product. Tape - that cuts. Wow, what a great idea. Just put a line of this down where you want the cut to be (be sure to leave a long line for a starter pull) - then put the vinyl on top, pull the middle cut-line up and you get a beautiful cut. It is a bit difficult to follow sharp curves, and it is hard to get started, but still - there is nothing better. Never put vinyl on something you care about without using this tape first. ... show more

  • Easy to use and stays in place despite moving the vinyl over it
I bought this to replace some from a different brand that I had let sit out (apparently shelf life is a potential concern) and it was super easy to work with. I've never wrapped anything before and have no experience with paint or body work, so if I can get a decent result it seems safe to assume most anyone could. My only issue was that on fairly sharp turns the filament would come out of the tape a bit, and depending on how much or little this could be blessing or (mild) curse. Most of the time I could just reposition it by hand and it would more or less stay in place, so it wasn't a huge deal. In a sharp corner for example the tape part might wrinkle on the inner perimeter but the filament coming out would make it possible to keep the cutting edge pretty much smooth. In my first attempt at using both this and vinyl wrap I covered a trunk and a pretty large hood which, (at least for me) meant a fair bit of repositioning of the vinyl, and surprisingly at no point did the knifeless tape come up when it shouldn't. As others have said, be sure to leave yourself plenty of slack to get the cut started, in some cases I did not, and that combined with the hard to reach location of some starts made things harder than they had to be. Live and learn I suppose. In the pics I added the hood slopes down at the end so it looks crooked, but it isn't from straight on. You can see that the curved corners aren't 100% legit, but from more than a couple feet away it really isn't too bad. Just for the sake of clarity the white part is the vinyl I laid down and then cut out and the carbon fiber is the hood itself. I made a reverse stencil of sorts. If you're thinking about giving this a shot go for it, the worst that could happen is you buy another sheet of vinyl. Not a big deal. ... show more
