I have a gorgeous desk but unfortunately it is very pointy at the edges. I like to lean over my desk and that always stabs me or if I rest my arms then above my elbows always rest right on the sharp edge of the table bruising my arms. I have been looking for something like this to guard the edge of my desk so I don't bruise myself but also have it long enough to cover the majority of my desk so both my arms can rest. I like it a lot and it is a squishy material. I like how it looks sleek so I don't have to tape cotton balls to the edge of my table, but my only complaint is my table is smooth and so is the arm rest and so there is no real grip.     • Better than a sharp desk edge
Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. It's on the firm end but it protects my wrists and forearms from having the desk edge dig into them. I used double-sided gorilla tape to fix it to the desk because I kept knocking it around. I just used small pieces separated by a couple inches between, that was a poor decision on my part. Not having 1 piece of tape going from end to end leaves gaps and allows for dirt to get under it and it requires to be blown out. ... show more

This really fit the bill for me, it’s great. Just what I was looking for. I got it to relax my forearms on the edge of my desk. I have a keyboard that has a built-in padded place for the palms of my hands already as part of it, and I already have a great mouse pad with a gel support for my palm. I read the reviews before I got it and was hesitating at first, because there was so many comments about how warped the padding could get and the unpadded edge side. Honestly, just avoid putting your elbows on it and it’s perfectly fine. The way I sit at my desk, I guess I’m not prone to putting my elbows on it, so it’s been working wonderfully for me. Yes, I agree that it would be an added benefit if the edge side was also a little padded, but it really doesn’t bother me since the padding on the top part is sufficient for my use. Also, I happen to like the fact that I can move it and it’s not attached permanently to my desk. I haven’t been facing what some of the other reviews have said about it moving all the time and not staying in one please; that hasn’t been my experience at all. Overall, I love this.     • Just what I needed!
I was seriously considering getting a new desk, the hard edge of the top hurt my arms daily. This is perfect, kind of spendy for what it is. My only complaint is that I can’t attach it to the desk somehow, which means it moves randomly and sometimes falls off.

    • Pretty comfortable
This product would have gotten 5 stars if there was some kind of grip on the underside that would give it traction on your desk. Right now it slides around and can be easily bumped off. It’s very comfortable and made well otherwise. No additional complaints.

    • It's 3M Quality, but...
The Non-slip back is not non-slip. it's very slick and moves around easy. I think I am going to reorder, maybe from 3M directly. it could be a defective batch. maybe the manufacture temp was set to high and caused the non-slip surface to become hard and slippery. it almost feels like there is silicon lubricant imbedded in the material. (But i Don't feel any residue on my fingers) for the rest of it, i would say the over all quality is very good. like i said maybe it was just a messed up batch caused by some random mistake in the manufacture process. Update: It appears the non slip surface is contaminated with a lubricant. I am cleaning it with 91% isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel, its starting to show its non -slip capacity. its really staying in place on the side i just cleaned. ... show more

    • VERY comfortable - watch your elbows!!
I just received my second one. I had second thoughts about spending that much money on a gel writs rest. As soon as I placed on the edge of my desk, I was glad I had made the purchase. I was getting slight marks on my arms before from the pressure of the edge of my desk on my arms. Now they feel very comfortable, and no marks. The ONE thing that I would advise people to be careful with when using this product is your elbows. I rested my left elbow on the product, and within 2 weeks it created some dents in the product. I called 3M to confirm if this was expected, and the representative was pretty adamant about the product NOT being designed to withstand elbow pressure. Luckily, Amazon took it back and sent me a new one (thank you, Amazon!), so I will be more careful this time around. Other than this, I would recommend it to anyone who is experiencing any discomfort because of the edge of their desk. ... show more
