Description

3M 1080 WRAP FILM SERIES are long-term, removable, dual cast coloured films are designed for solid colour vehicle detailing, decoration and full wraps without graphic protection. This film's Controltac pressure-activated adhesive allows it to slide and be repositioned until firm pressure is applied. The non-visible Comply air release channels assure fast, easy and virtually bubble-free installations. These vinyl films (minimum 3.5 mil) are sold in 60 inch rolls, allowing almost any section of a vehicle to be wrapped without seams. Amazing color change affect ,( from every angle it's different ) and this was my first wrap needless to say I had no clue what I was doing other than common sense and you tube videos and it turned out amazing no complaints other than every Lil scratch or piece of dirt trapped under the vinyl or any overspray in the clear coat shows through lol so just pre clean and tac cloth several times and if needed fine grit wet sand everything u can feel on the surface , wash hands repeatedly and don't squeegee after heating it let cool few seconds and make sure it's glassed pretty good because the airless technology is great but only works on small bubbles and must be squegee out starting in the middle out both ways use soap and water to avoid scratching!! If you get a crease just peel it back heat it back up and erase all imperfections and repeat as desired also don't over stretch causes small stretch marks barely visible good luck mine turned out amazing.... ... show more

I ordered a smaller section to try my hand at vinyl wrapping smaller interior trim pieces of my car in hopes that I found it easy enough to one day wrap my motorcycle. I'm happy to say that the look of this and the quality is far better than I could've hoped for. Of course it requires patience and a heat gun to use, any forum could tell you that. However, this 3M 1080 vinyl was amazingly re workable, if there was a crease it was no problem to redo that section to fix it. Once laid completely flat, the vinyl is gorgeous on the eyes. I can't wait to order my next section and put it on a Suzuki SV650S. I'll update the post with those pictures later. ... show more

I used this on some of the parts on my motorcycle. It was my first time, and it went reasonably well. The material is fiddly, but with patience and my heat gun, I was able to do a pretty good job. Other people say it looks awesome, but in the right light, you can definitely see what I think are glue lines. They’re not bubbles, just. Texture. Not a big enough deal for me to care about, personally. I’m happy with the result I got overall. I used less than 2 pieces of the 1 foot by 5 foot length rolls I ordered. I also covered my vape mod to match. Cause accessories. And recycling. Cheers! ... show more

I think this wrap is pretty good considering it was my first time using it. Obviously I’m not a professional, but I used it as an accent color for parts of my car. I didn’t use a squeegee for most of the job but I felt it was unnecessary. I just used my fingers because it didn’t really have many air bubbles. There were a lot of wrinkles and trying to get them out was a difficult task on its own. Used with heat but be careful because it WILL rip easy and burn through. I’m giving this one star because the title is misleading, you will not receive 3m 1080, you’ll receive 2080 (newer version) which is important in this case because if you are looking for the heavy color flip effect, you’ll want to try and find 1080! It’s the original version and 3m dimmed down the color flip effect substantially when they transitioned to 2080. If you’re looking for more subtle color flip effect, you’re good to go with 2080. But the sample photos are not what you will receive in this instance ... show more

The psychedelic glimmer is there but only when the sun hits the vynil. Under a shade it's just a dull grey. And from different angles it looses the rainbow glimmer as you can see...those pics were taken at the same time....but it was morning...not noon time. Do not expect it to look like the subaru pic above. It's easy to apply though....i did the hood with no heat gun just an application card. ... show more

Loved the dance of colors in firelight--I had wrapped some loudspeakers for my daughter's XMAS gift in it--could barely let go of them. I'm new to wrapping--like any film, requires patience, practice, ideally two pairs of hands, and did I say patience.
