I use this for paint correction of new paint. With an course foam pad or wool pad, it easily buffs out 2500 sanding scratches but even when I miss some 1500 grit scratches with the 2500, a couple of extra passes and the 1500 marks are gone. The only downside is it dries up very fast and is tough to remove when the temperature in the garage is over around 85. You need to use an extra lubricant like their Final Touch or even a mist of water. Since I have a huge tub of Mcguires compound, I use that first and then the 3D 510 to remove the scratches left behind by the Mcguires. ... show more

I recently did some bodywork to a Volkswagen beetle that I am rebuilding. I had to redo the clearcoat in several areas, and the stuff worked really great for buffing it down to a finish that was ready for a good polish and wax. Saved a bunch of elbow grease doing it all by hand I can’t say enough good things about the outcome. Do yourself a favor and watch some YouTube videos on how to sand and polish clearcoat. Cuts well for 1500 grit sand marks and finishes very well. Depending on the customer’s needs, you may not need to polish. I’ve used many other compounds and polishes for over 20 years. I am completely sold on 3D products.

I originally scratched my clear coat using 3,000 grit sandpaper. During my first attempt, I attempted to use the 3D all-in-one scratch remover , but that led to not very good results. I then switched to the 5, 10 rubbing compound ant then cleared those scratches right up. I attached a photo to show a before and after.
