I recently picked up a Horshod 20-inch Hard Shell Carry-On Luggage for upcoming trips, and I'm impressed! Here's a breakdown of my experience so far: Lightweight Champion: This suitcase is a lifesaver for weight-conscious travelers. I just received this luggage and my first impressions is this appears to be a good buy for hardshell luggage with a built in TSA lock weighing in at only 6.17 pounds. But there are some concerns that can only be answered in upcoming usage. It opens from the middle exposing 2 sides for storage. The inner dimensions are 19 inches(H) x 9.25 inches(D) 13.5 inches(W). When opened 1 side is about 5 inches deep and the other is about 4.25 inches deep. The 5-inch side has a zippered separator that can hold wet or other clothes as well as hold the bottom clothes securely in place. The 4.25-inch side has elastic straps to keep clothes secure (See pictures). However, on the 4.25-inch side, the retractable handle does not sit flush to the hardshell back. While it is behind the inside material liner both bars are raised about 1 inch inside of suitcase on the 4.25-inch side reducing some depth in that area. I suppose you can load socks underwear etc. to fill in between the bars so the rest of the clothes on that side do not get so wrinkled. (See pictures - phone placed between bars to get perspective on the depth) The wheels roll / spin freely and should be great on smooth surfaces. The actual wheel size on this luggage is 2 inches in diameter which should help rolling on rougher surfaces but, since they are molded plastic, I wonder about their durability. Unfortunately, due to the larger sized 2-inch wheel and an overall height of about 2.8 inches to the base of the bag, space is reduced for storage inside the bag. Larger wheels are great for navigating rougher surfaces but come at a cost of reduced inner storage. This is especially true of 4 wheeled luggage when compared to 2-wheel luggage. While it does claim to be carry on size (they state the luggage size is 21.5(H) x 9(D) x 13(W) inches), I'm not really sure of that as I did not get the same measurements. That might be the actual luggage without feet and handles. FSA states a carry-on bag including wheels and handles etc. can be no more than 22(H) x 9(D) x 14(W). By my measurements, this bag is slightly over at 22.5(H) x 9.5(D) x 15(W) inches even without opening the 1-inch expander which would increase the depth. This I believe, is partially due to the top and side handles which when lying flat are about 3/4 of an inch each and the feet on the width side also add additional width. (See pictures, with bag sitting on its side I extended a ruler from the handle and leveled it to get a measurement of 15 inches including the feet and handle for total width). This is of concern for carry-on use as it might either be very tight or may not fit in the measuring containers ("your carry on must fit in this") you see at the airport. I don’t know how tight those measuring bins are but would suspect they are pretty close to the FSA sizing. Unfortunately, this was delivered 1 day after my wife left on a business trip so I have not yet been able to check my sizing concerns or field test this luggage for its durability. As they are key items for carry-on luggage, I will look to tentatively update this review in May when the next travel opportunity is to be scheduled. All of that said, my feeling now is that this is a nice piece of lightweight luggage with hardshell protection at a very inexpensive price. ... show more

This suitcase seems like a winner to me! It's very easy to roll and the handle seems sturdy. The interior is a very standard setup, one side the contents held in place with elastic straps and the other is a zipper compartment. I like the hard exterior and always feel like my stuff is better protected this way. The sizing will not cause any issues with a carry on for any airline that I'm aware of. ... show more

This carry-on is a great bang for not a lot of bucks! Also, remember that airlines are cracking down in a big way, and most 22" carryons are actually more like 24" when you count the wheels. At 21x13x9 inches, this carry-on is going to be bin-ready for almost all major U.S. airlines It checks all of my major boxes. It has a built-in TSA lock (stock combination is 000). It rolls smoothly. The handle telescopes nicely. It has a zippered compartment and once with elastic to cinch everything down. And finally, it was an expansion zipper that gets you an extra inch of width if you need it. The exterior shell looks like it's ready to stand up to some serious abuse. The quality of this bag looks and feels like it will hold up over time, but I think it's a bargain even for a casual flyer. Two enthusiastic thumbs up from me. ... show more
