Overall, the tank is good, but the floor filter is not meant to last. It broke in less than three months. The tank is so small that we can't really use any internal filter without significantly consuming the space. It has a good design but typical "made in China" poor execution.

Christmas gift for my son who had a little 1 gallon. Upgraded to this one. The size is perfect for us. Love that it comes with everything you need. Don’t know a lot about tanks but I think this would be great for beginners. The only time the filter is loud is if the water level isn’t quite to the max level. So pretty once put together. It did take some time rinsing the sand and rocks. Once the sand is put down I learned a little trick adding the water as to not stir it all up. Use a sandwich bag, fill it with air and zip it shut. Put it in the tank. Pour your water over the bag. Works beautifully ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Size is good, filter is quiet, light is nice that it can be moved and turned on and off with a button. I just installed it, so I have no complaints so far. If your looking for the most complete mini aquarium kit, this is the one you need! This kit includes everything you need but gravel, water, and fish! This 3.4 gallon tank is ALL GLASS from edge to edge and top to bottom with none of the black plastic edges you might see in other tanks. This really gives you a clear unobstructed view of your fish. This kit includes a hang on back power filter, an air pump, a submersible heater, a thermometer, an LED light, a rock sculpture, and a few assorted artificial plants. They even throw in some pH test strips so you can get your water chemistry just right. All you'll need to complete this setup is to put some sand or gravel on the bottom, add water dechlorinated and fish. I really love that this tank is real glass and not plastic or plexiglass! Cute little tank but I would build my own if I could start over. First, the filter worked for 30 seconds before it stopped permanently. I had no substrate or anything that clogged it. It can't be taken apart to clean either but that's not a problem because I had to buy a new one. The heater never got past 76°. I replaced it and since there's no thermometer included, I bought that too. No problem with the new items. The light is ok though and tank is solid. I didn't realize it would be weeks to ship to me, so I tried to cancel immediately and couldn't. I should've returned it but there was a needy Betta in bad shape my neighbor was going to throw away. He's doing great now! I had intended to get shrimp for this tank but it's all good. Just wouldn't buy this again. ... show more
