  • Nice looking rope.
Appears to be nice quality rope. It is made in China, but there is a German contact on the label. (A consulting company though, so not sure if that means anything.) What I like is a sticker with specifications on the label, which is more than some cheap ropes that claim to be 'strong' but don't give any numbers. It seems to handle just fine when I dangle and bounce on it a foot above the ground. I don't weight anything close to the reported 3,372 lbs working limit, so I feel safe using this as a safety line while climbing trees to cut down some limbs. That said, if I ever actually fall and catch myself with it, I'd probably consider it 'used up' and buy a replacement at this price. (Better safe than sorry!) I may find a way to hook an anchor on my steep roof too, but I definitely wouldn't leave this outside in between uses if I'm going to trust it with my life. ... show more

  • NOT A LIFE SAFETY LINE OR RAPPELLING ROPE!
This rope is represented as being a "rappelling rope", a "static rope", "emergency rescue rope",and "arborist" rope. All of which are Life Safety applications which should require the manufacturer to test and Certify the Safe Working Load and Break Load. The product does show both values but does not state who the testing authority was that tested the rope. Also, I could not find the Safe Working Load for the carabiners included. As a former rock climber and someone who knows OSHA rules, I would caution NOT to use this rope for any life safety applications. Dock rope, tent rope, pulley rope for equipment, almost any other utility use, but NOT when human safety is at risk. I did appreciate the apparent quality of construction and believe that this is a decent if inexpensive of hardware. I bought it to keep in my motorcycle tool kit and for camping. I can recommend this product within the limits noted above. ... show more

  • Sturdy
The Nylon is thick and well braided so that it will not come aloose. It had a hook at each end. It is strong and will "tug" if something is pulling on it, indicating that it had good holding power. The hooks are thick but still small enough that they will go onto and around the piece on my kayak. I'm not sure if the proper term for it. I love that the rope is bright orange and reflective because it helps in case I get lost or if it falls into the water to be able to see it. The nice thing about this type of rope is that it's versatile. I could use this to rock climb, use it to help in other water situations, practicing how to tie a rope, and so on. If you use this for an emergency, don't use it again. Only use it once as instructed by the description. The tension on the rope in those instances would weaken it. ... show more

  • Good for utility, maybe not climbing.
I purchased this for my daughter as a rock climbing rope. It is stiffer than other climbing ropes & is much shorter. To be fair, the description says that it's only 3 meters, but somehow I missed that & the pictures show a rope that is substantially longer than that. The locking carabiner is nice, again not as hefty as the ones that are typically used for rock climbing, but still sturdy. We're keeping this to use as a utility rope around the house, but not as a climbing rope. Hopefully it will loosen up some with use as it's stiff & doesn't 'wrap up' nicely for storage right now. It does come with a bag, but I prefer to wrap them up (like the picture) & put them in a storage bin with other rope just to save space. ... show more

  • Well secured loops
I will be adding this 3 meter rope to my limb & tree cutting kit. It will replace cargo straps that I had been using for that application. Likes: - The rope itself is of a nice quality - The end loops are well secured with stitching, plastic covers over the stitching, and plastic inserts at the loop pivot points. - Screw locking carabiners Dislikes: None Overall I am impressed, especially for the $7.99USD price as of this review. ... show more

  • Well-made dock line with locking carabiners
The dock line is made with high-quality stitches on the eyelets at the ends of the rope. It is a sturdy and heavy-duty line made with strong materials, ensuring that it can withstand harsh outdoor and marine environments. The rope feels smooth to the touch and is the right length for inner tubes, kayaks, and paddle boards. The carabiners at the end of the rope lock securely, keeping the items tethered. Overall, this is a great-value dock line that is built to last. ... show more

  • Good value but not for climbing
This rope seems well crafted. The main rope body and liner seemed to be standard. The thimble seemed good, but I'd personally want eyelets with steel thimbles for climbing. Stitching on the eye loop was good. The eye splice at both ends were covered with a bit of semi-durable shrink to fit plastic. The carabiners also seemed pretty good. It all came in a handy bag. I removed 2 stars for description as a climbing rope without certifications. You might remove more for plastic /vinyl eyelet thimbles. I found it deceptive for them to use a photo depicting a bundle of 10 to 15 meters or more of rope when this is only a 3m product. It is misleading even though the text describes the actual length of the product. Overall, fairly nice, but please don't use this product for climbing and please be sure of the length you are buying. I'd give this at least 4 stars for the value if not represented as a climbing product. It's great as a tie down or casual use rope, in my opinion. Please do not use this for climbing. ... show more

  • Strong and Vibrant
The NorthPada 3/8 inch Nylon Rope has exceeded my expectations for durability and usability. Its bright orange color ensures high visibility, making it easy to spot even in low light conditions. The inclusion of large carabiner's at each end is a huge plus, adding to its versatility and ease of use. The rope itself feels incredibly strong and sturdy, giving me confidence in its ability to withstand the rigors of outdoor use. I'm excited to put it to the test with my beach anchor at the lake this spring, and I have no doubt it will perform admirably. ... show more
