I have a number of these from different manufacturers in different lengths/configurations because I never know what my docking situation is going to be with my cross-over fishing boat. What I didn't have was a short set and these are perfect. They are strong, the carabiner end is sturdy and appears to resist corrosion. I was able to use these to raft-up with another boat while crappie fishing this weekend. They worked very well to keep us tight without excess dock line cluttering the boat or becoming a tripping hazard. I would put these on the higher end of quality compared to the others I have and would consider buying this brand again should I need yet another different size. ... show more

These bungee dock lines with a loop and stainless tackle are best suited for PWC or very small boats. For any vessel larger than that, their use should be limited to fender duty or very short term mooring in calm water. Although made of very strong nylon, the thickness just isn't there to safely secure a medium or larger sized boat. Same for the stainless clip, it is light duty with a closure that gives more of a false sense of security than any actual safety value. I wouldn't even use these to deploy a drag chute, to give another example of their lighter construction. Overall, they are a well made item in terms of material and incorporated loop. Though the stainless clip is really about as strong as a key chain and I am not sure I would trust it with my keys either. ... show more

I know this because the ones I'm retiring lasted only two seasons. One look at these and I can see that the feel, strength and the quality of the rope itself, the carabiner hook etc is far better than my previous set when those were brand new. Well recommended Update; After this purchase I tried a couple of other brands. This one wins hands down - sorry if this is too much detail... The "Clip" is an actual 316 stainless carabineer with an eye loop for the poly rope to be spliced to. The separate loop keeps the splice from interfering with the function of the clip itself. That's what sets this bungee line choice apart from others. In the past I've bought a good carabineer just like this one and spliced my own braided line to it so I'd have a line I could rely on. This one is as good as any I've made on my own. Others say they the clip is stainless, they're not necessarily 316 stainless. The clip on others is more of an extended 'S' hook with a thin clip with a weak spring. If I'm using a clip to tie off my boat, I want to feel confident that the boat will be there when I come back. The splice - is more of a true splice but with an extra wrap. I don't care for the extra wrap because it limits the amount of slide used to open or close the loop on the loop side. But this is still better than a knot made to look like a spice. Poly rope is not all the same, different strengths etc, but you cant necessarily tell by the feel so they feel the same from one to the next. The braid on this one is somewhat loose which is good because it doesn't stress when the bungee inside is stressed. But it does have a 'fat' feel which you do get used to. These are short 2 foot ropes with some stretch that make it great for connecting up to other boats at our Floatilla groups. We tie up next to each other with a bumper between our boats and the design of this rope makes it easy to clip the two together. The bungee has enough stretch to let the boats move around during the passing wakes without holding them too tight together. The spring clip at the one end is large enough to clip right through the center of the smaller cleats on our boat. ... show more

I really like how compact and easy to store these dock lines are. I use them on my Jon Boat since they fit perfectly onto the dock cleats, keeping my small boat from drifting away. They're very handy when your hands are full, whether you're packing a cooler or life jackets, or stepping onto the boat. I also have zero storage space, so I keep them attached to the boat cleats. Being made of polyethylene braided rope, I know they won't damage the aluminum hull, plus they're always ready for action. The stainless steel clip makes it easy and fast to switch from one side of the boat to the other. Just last weekend, after a day on the water and just before I pulled up to the dock, someone started to back their boat down the ramp. It was no big deal; I reached over and moved the dock lines to the other side. No stress, just grab and clip. These are a solid product.
