1 Year, 7 Month Update: No regrets, this is a fantastic sink. As mentioned below in my earlier review, we have very hard water. Still no spots. We still have all the original accessories and all have held up great - including the stainless steel metal grate and the drying rack. No rusting and both look new even though they're used every day. I did scratch the bottom of the sink. I had taken out the metal grate and was furiously scrubbing a ceramic pan, forgetting that I didn't have the grate. Left a long scratch at the bottom but it's only visible in when looking from a specific angle under the right lighting conditions. There are also some light scratches along the edge of inside front of the sink from daily use. Again, not easy to see and definitely not a reason to not buy this. Just keep in mind that you can scratch deep enough to get to the silver metal. I recommend leaving the grate in. We do throw the grate into the dishwasher about once a month to clean off anything that we don't get during routine hand cleaning. Otherwise no dents or dings. I'm also amazed how there are no scratches along the top rim of the sink. This thing is built very well. My wife and I are still VERY satisfied and love all the compliments we get when people see it. Highly recommended!! 1 Month Update: Still loving this sink. It's held up very well - no issues at all. We have hard water so sometimes it spots a little but very easy to clean off with a paper towel - no hard scrubbing. Previous Review: I never thought I'd ever be doing a review for a sink but I also never thought I'd actually love one either. It's only been in for a few days, but we love the size, accessories, and the overall quality. The sink is solid with excellent sound dampening, it's well constructed, not too heavy, has great drainage, and it's beautiful to look at. My wife and I are in the process of remodeling and realized our sink was bringing the whole kitchen down. We had very few requirements but we agreed we wanted a darker sink to match our black stainless appliances. After a ton of research we settled on the Sarlai 33" drop-in in gunmetal black. It matches everything perfectly. (As a side note, we also had looked at black granite epoxy sinks, but after seeing how much care they require, we decided against it.) Shipping was fantastic. The sink came in a cardboard box, lined with 1/4" plywood. Foam was placed around each corner of the sink which was wrapped in a nice cloth bag. All the accessories and book were wrapped in plastic and tucked inside the sink nicely. Installation was very straight forward. I'm not a plumber but I'm pretty handy so I ended up just doing it myself. I didn't have to make any modifications to the counter top since the original sink was also 33". The package included clips that go all the way around the sink. I placed a bead of silicone around the edge and dropped the sink in. Clips screwed in nicely - no issues and the sink made a really tight seal. I had read reviews of other stainless steal sinks and how they can be a little warped - no warping on this one at all; nice and flat! Because we have a garbage disposal, the included drain wouldn't work. So I ordered the Allwen black kitchen sink drain (see link below). It matches PERFECTLY. After some acrobatics and a little plumbers putty, everything went smooth. One other thing I did for myself is I attached the faucet and air switch BEFORE I placed the sink in. That made a HUGE difference. I agree with the other reviewers: the clips that come with this sink are total rubbish. I just used caulk and then clamped my sink to the countertop while it cured. I do like the sink, though. Comes with a great drain basket.

Sink is heavy guage and arrived on time and in good condition. Packing was exemplary. My only gripe (and it is a small one) is that the hold-down clips were pretty well useless because of the way they install on the sink. If you pre install them on the sink, you can't reach them (at least not with our 1.5" counter. In any event, we simply used a good quality silicone to hold the sink (which is plenty heavy) and it hasn't gone anywhere. For the price, I don't think you can find a better sink. ... show more

I bought this drop-in sink to replace a much cheaper (and worn) one we had at our summer cottage. I compared similar (33x22) sinks at Costco, Home Depot, etc, and it seemed like it was better looking and better made for a lower price. Once delivered, that turned out to be true. It was very well packed, but weighed a ton. After I got the old sink out, I realized a couple of things anyone considering this sink should know BEFORE ordering it... 1. If this is a new countertop/kitchen install OR you are replacing a smaller sink, using the cutout template leaves only 3/8 inch of countertop on each edge to support the sink's considerable weight. 2. If you are replacing an existing 33x22 sink, the template dimension may be narrower than the hole you already have and leave you with marginal perimeter support (we were left with just 1/4 inch on each edge). 3. The sink is designed to be held in place by 10 draw-up clips. These are a JOKE and would not work for our installation (see other buyer's comments as well). 4. It took an hour to install the clips only to find they were unusable. The instructions picture an entirely different clip design and provide no guidance on how to attach them to the sink. There are no on-line videos from the manufacturer. (Hint: there is no easy way to install it using their instructions). It took 10 minutes to remove them. 5. The clips can not be used to retain the sink in a 36" sink base (on a wider base they might work). There is not enough space between the bowl and cabinet to draw-up the clip screws as required (at an angle) as there is no room for your hand or screw driver. 6. The minimum counter thickness the clips will work with is 1 1/2 inches. If your counter core/center is thinner than this forget the clips unless you plan to add/glue-in spacers. We ultimately used Clear Silicone Caulk to glue-in the sink after masking off the counter top to minimize clean-up. The silicone can be easily removed from the stainless with acetone. The sink is thicker than our old one and has numerous pads to deaden sound. It looks great, but as with all things... Let the buyer beware. Unless you are hiring a plumber to do the install, there may be easier choices available. ... show more

Awesome sink! It fit right into my 25x22 cutout of my old sink. Faucet and everything was easy to install too. Only issue I had was my drain line sits 12” above the base of the cabinet, so I had issues with my dishwasher drain sitting below the P-trap had to cut some of the drain tail off and some of the sink drain threads off to make it all work.
