I'm always on the search for good dinnerware to complement our aging antique blue stoneware. The inner glazing on these bowls are a close match to our set from the 1950s. Hopefully getting quality dinnerware will help in prolong the life of our old pieces that pre-date the microwave oven and probably do care for that type of heating. **Product description: The four stoneware bowls came well packaged to protect them during shipping. The outer glaze is a nice semi-flat black coating with the blue speckled celadon glaze on the inside. The bowls are flat bottomed and are 6.5 inches wide at the top edges with a depth of 2.5 inches. **Assembly Requirements: None. What I liked/The pros: -Pretty inner glazing. -Good larger portion sizing (27 ounces). -Stable wider base (helps prevent spilling). -Microwave safe (confirmed with usage). -Good for multiple food types. -Easy cleaning. What I didn't/The cons: -Nothing so far. **Does it work as described: Yes, they hold the foods. **Learning curve to use: Nothing so far. **Ease of use: Very easy. **Easy to assemble: No assembly required. These are some very nice bowls that have all of the qualities that I'm looking for in dinnerware. Hopefully using these bowls in place of our older set will help get those bowls with us a bit longer. If these keep preforming as they have so far I would expect these to be with us for a while as well. 5 stars. ... show more

First of all, I just wanna say how happy I am that these were able to ship to Haweewee and that everything was received intact. Aside from that, these bowls are perfect! The colors are beautiful and I appreciate that the bottoms are wide. The best feature of these bowls is heat doesn’t transfer easily through (which means these are pretty thick but they’re surprisingly not that heavy) so I can have a hot bowl of food but the exterior will not translate that heat which means I don’t have to pull my shirt out and try and carry my bowl to the table. Haha, I know bowl like this been around for a while I just never decided to get any. So now I have finally got some. Great set of bowls nice large and great color. No more will i spill my soup cause half the bowl is a lip rather than a side to hold liquid in like a cup does. These seem to be well made and look sturdy.
