Bowls arrived WELL packaged. They were stacked on top of each other with cardboard separating them, and then inside another box within a box. No way these would break in transit. These aren't huge bowls, but they are deep. I can hold this in one hand while eating out of it, which is perfect for a bowl of ice cream in front of the tv. The matte finish on these provide enough grip to where they don't feel like they will slide out of my hand. I'm going to use these in my RV, and I think they will work great. They stack nice and they are heavy enough where they won't bang around in the cupboard. I'm happy with these. ... show more

These are very nicely made stoneware bowls, they are beautiful to use and enjoy. They wash up well and they do not easily crack or chip if you drop them by accident. They have a very good looking matte finish that looks classy and elegant. These bowls are a very generous size, I got mine to use for my morning bowl of granola, however these bowls will accommodate a lot, learned that the hard way on the first morning I used one, got a triple serving that morning. I cannot fault these stoneware ceramic bowls, they are simply beautiful to use. They feel smooth yet textured in your hands, so they will not easily slip out of your hand. They are to big to hold with one hand if you hold the bowl across the bottom, but you can hold them up the side, from bottom to top. They wash up perfectly, you can put them through the dish washer, not sure if you are dish washer safe but they have been fine every time I have put them through it. If you like good stoneware then these bowls are for you, you will appreciate the quality and the very generous serving size they offer, I am delighted to have gotten these. ... show more

These are very nice Black bowls. However, they sadly need to do better with quality control. As you see from a few of the pics, one bowl has clear blemishes in the finish. Actually, one of them, it's more than a blemish in the finish, it's in the clay of the bowl. While the marks don't go into to the inside, this may cause weakness in the bowl in the future. Just one bowl had the major issues, 2 were fine and one had just some cosmetic issues in the finish. ... show more

    • Good Bowls
The packaging job done by the manufacturer to ensure the bowls arrived safely was really well done. This is especially important when Amazon can't grasp basic packaging techniques like filling empty space. The bowls have an impressive heft to them and nothing about them look or feels cheap. The look and finish of the bowls is really nice and I like the shape both aethestically because it's easy to grip in one hand (for when I have something hot like soup in it and it's easier to carry with one hand below with a paper towel). I'm not sure if it's the shape or material, but it also seems to more evenly heat things like soups and stews in the microwave compared to my other bowls which is nice. On that note it is extremely hot out of the microwave so be careful there. They also rinse pretty easily, making it that much quicker to get into the dishwasher. Overall these are great bowls that made me realize just how long it's been since I've bought/owned some decent bowls and will probably get another set. ... show more
