The application: 36V EzGo golf cart. UPDATE2: I have to hand it to their support group. They could not have been more helpful. First to narrow down the issue to the BMS board. Then to ship a beefier board free of charge. Took a while because it came from China. Yes, it was a bit of a hassle. But we figured out that it was that instant current request when we floored it. If we were gentle on the throttle all went fine. All is well now. Golf cart running better than it has in years. Super happy with this decision. UPDATE!: So. After contacting the seller about the problem, they provided some coaching on testing the battery package with a volt/ohm meter. I won't dive deep into the details. But it *did* help me narrow down the issue. It turns out that I figured out I could 'reset' the battery by removing the cables from either the positive or negative terminal, breaking the circuit. Re-attach (with an audible POP that is a little disconcerting) it and cart will run again. Until I put it under a heavy instantaneous load. Then it will die again. Figured out that, as long as I babied the throttle, it ran just fine. After some back and forth with the seller, they are shipping me a new Battery Management System (BMS) that is 'upgraded' to handle instant loads, free of charge. I'll update again after I've installed it. First review: The good: 1) super lightweight. Weighs about half of what *one* of the six lead-acid batteries it replaced. 2) packaging and delivery are impressive. 3) The manual actually made a lot of sense. Plenty of guidance. 4) After following the instructions TO THE LETTER (charged with the included charger to full overnight before installing it in my cart.), got in an hit the pedal. OMG!! MY CART WAS HAULING BUTT. Seriously impressive performance! The Bad: So i test drove the cart for about two miles, up and down hills. No dropoff at all. I had attached a voltage readout so I could observe it under use. Under full throttle it would only sink to 36.7 or so, 37 to 38v at idle. Super excited. Drove it down to our pier, did some boat work. Hopped back in to head back to the house. ran for about 10 feet. And just died. Voltage reader went dark. Put a multimeter to it. 100% resistance across the poles. DC volts it showed 1v. Hooked up the charger to it and the LED just flashed green off-on. Only possible conclusion is the package bricked itself after about 3 miles of use. Returning it for a refund. However, I will say that I'm definitely going to replaced it with another LiFePo package. Just need better quality. Super disappointed this didn't work out. ... show more

    • An All Around Great Battery Purchase

This is not the most expensive 24v Life-Po 100 Amp battery or the cheapest, but from my early experience with the unit it may be one of the best. The package is impressive: Along with a very solidly-built battery case, they include a 24v 5-amp plug-in wall charger and a user manual which, for a change, is utterly complete and clearly written. Shipping was zip-fast and the sturdy packaging some of the best I've seen. Installing it into my solar power system was plug and play since the charging, low-voltage and other controller settings for it are essentially identical to those of the AGM lead-acid batteries which I've been using for the past 9 years. This battery has a 5-year warranty. I've seen virtually identical units with a higher price tag touting warranties up to 10 years. No way to know how that will work out in the future, but the reports from early adopters indicate these type of batteries should have much longer life spans than AGM or even regular Lithium Ion batteries. My previous 100amp AGM lead-acid battery system would have cost me $500 to replace at current prices -- and using them on a daily basis they never lasted more than 3 to 4 years, so for an extra $80 bucks I thought the new technology was worth a shot. I'll revise this review if I find out anything different. For those wondering why these type of batteries have an "on-off" button it's because the battery case has a built-in 24v DC outlet and the button turns on and off the power to that socket. It does not affect the power at the top posts (or the charging port). ... show more

    • Makes our golf car go noticeably faster

Our golf car goes noticeably faster without any modification. We used to average 12 mpg now 15/16 mpg. It may not seem like much but you notice the difference. Easier to charge. Alot smaller than the 6 large batteries and less weight. No maintenance checking the water. Very easy to assemble. We have had it almost a year with no problems. ... show more
