The major pickleball paddle manufacturers have us all a bit brainwashed, including me. So I wasn't expecting a lot from a paddle that costs just under $100. While I'm a humble 4.0-ish player, I have plenty of experience trying new paddles and the one was surprisingly great! In fact, I like it more than some of my much more expensive paddles! (Yes, I have several paddles. I'm a bit obsessed with pickleball that way! It happens, OK?!?) This paddle has a good textured face that gives it decent ball control. It has good balanced weighting so it feels comfortable on power stroker and more nuanced dinks and resets. The handle is a good length and the grip is comfortable. (I would add some extra grip tape for better handling a sweat control.) If you are looking for a well-priced paddle that is above beginner level and can take you into the higher and more advanced levels, I can recommend this one! ... show more

    • Very Solid Intermediate Paddle - Very Grippy T-700 Face - Nice Sweet Spot!

I'll start by saying that I'm super happy with this Passion Pulse paddle. I typically play with an open throat Selkirk Omega paddle, but love to test out these new paddles that are coming out very consistently on Amazon. I grabbed this Passion Pulse paddle and figured it would be worth trying it out. Right out of the package, I was impressed with the grippy face. The face appears and feels to be made from legit T700 raw carbon fiber. I've definitely encountered some of these "emerging" brands that advertise a T700 raw face, but there is zero chance it's legit... this is legit. The ability to put serious spin on the ball is legit. The sweet spot is very average/on point for a paddle in this price range. I would definitely classify this as a very solid intermediate paddle. Someone who takes the game seriously and wants a nice paddle, but doesn't want to spend $200-$400 on a high end paddle from one of the big boys. The 16 mm honeycomb polypropylene core hits very similarly to my Selkirk. I prefer an edgeless paddle, where this has an edge, but it plays really well. It's a touch on the heavy side for my liking, and realistically what earned the 4 star review instead of 5. I felt like the weight held my swing back just a touch, and coupled with the closed throat design, I could feel the difference. This weighed in at 8.3oz as stated, but my normal paddle is 7.7oz, so that made a difference for me. All in all, this is a very good intermediate paddle that is perfect for someone who likes a very grippy, edged paddle a touch on the heavier side and who doesn't want to break the bank! I have to admit, my wife and I are new to pickleball, but I wanted us to start with premium racquets so we could train on them and keep using them even as we get better. We chose the V7 Pro for me and the T700 for my wife (she loves the pink), by Passion Pulse, a well-known brand with lots of reviews. These are both premium quality racquets which are great to start on (very light and easy to control), but will certainly be with us for years, as it is very nice and does not look like a "beginner racquet" by any means. These have a carbon fiber surface, which gives nice control and is very light weight, not like to wood core ones. The handles are wrapped nicely and should hold up for years. I personally think the V7 Pro has a masculine rugged look and the T700 (with the pink highlights) works well for my wife (though I would not mind using it myself). Priced at $100, either one is a great choice to start with and stay with. ... show more

Very solid paddle. Feels very similar to the standard Friday pickleball paddle. I like the weight of it. Face is very trippy and has good spin. Overall power and control are solid. Would recommend for any beginner to intermediate player.

Well balanced pickleball paddle! The weight and balance is near perfect for me. More towards control type player like me treasures the balance point of the paddle. This paddles weight distribution is close to 50/50, the center of the paddle is very near its sweet spot to hit high precision shots when you up the net playing aggressively. Wide angle trick reversals shots are easy to pull. Very awesome paddle, now it earns a place in my paddle backpack. A must have for me! ... show more
