I've been working with the Pro TT scanner for about 2 weeks, I've done many diags on multiple makes including Chrysler 2016, Hyundai 2014 sonata, 2016 Mercedes and it has not let me down, I was able to enter all modules and clear code, do active tests, read live data, programming, EVERYTHING. I don't know what else to say except that I highly recommend this tool. I couldn't leave a rating for tech support because I didn't need it and never used it. The ONLY thing I can think of negative when using it is that is does not have a rear stand that most tools come with, definitely not a deal breaker not the only thing I could think of! ... show more

The Launch X431V provides dealer level diagnostics at an affordable price. Extensive data stream information, fault code information with internet links for diagnosis, actuator testing, and special functions like throttle learn, injector coding, and maintenance light resets provide technicians with more diagnostic data than other scan tools costing much more! In addition to engine controls, Anti-lock brake, Air bag, climate control, cruise control, instrument panel, immobilizer, TPMS, etc. systems can be accessed and diagnosed with fault codes, data stream, actuator tests, and more. Be sure to boot up the tool, register, and download all the diagnostic data, then the available diagnostics for vehicles can be perused from the DEMO page. Very broad coverage for basically every vehicle in the world from 1996 up to present day. Don't see something you need? Then be sure to do the updates, as new information is being added on a regular basis. Also, you are encouraged to file reports on vehicles that don't have a particular module or test available. Yes, there are diagnostics in the system for 2018 vehicles, but many times this information is not immediately available to the aftermarket, so sometimes vehicles, especially newer vehicles, have limited diagnostics. However, the majority of cars I have tested so far are very well covered. The only thing that this scanner IS NOT equipped to do is J2534 flash-thru reprogramming; and I'm not interested in getting in to that part of diagnostics and repair. So, I consider this scanner to be the BEST VALUE available for diagnostic capability on a very broad range of vehicles. Shipping was prompt and on time, the item was new in box and well packaged, I was able to charge up and boot up the tool easily, and customer service is excellent! If all you need is a bigger screen, then spend $400 more for the V+ PRO. Otherwise, the X431V is the same tool and does the same thing. Addendum, 08/20: I have now used the Launch for approximately 1 1/2 years. The tool has delivered exceptional diagnostics, considering the broad scope of vehicles I tend to work on. My main reason for this update however is to impress upon purchasers/users of this device the outstanding customer service and support. Approximately three weeks ago I could not login in to my account to do a software update. My password was not accepted. This was due NOT to a problem with Launch, but a technical issue with my internet service and wifi. I contacted cnlaunch about my problem. Someone named Monica helped me with my problem. Keep in mind, it had nothing to do with the Launch product, but Monica went far above and beyond anything I would have expected to get my scan tool back up and running. This included getting my username and password reset AND providing me with a link to download the latest app for Launch X431V, which now includes more diagnostic functions than ever. Monica also checked back to be sure that my scanner was indeed working! Keep in mind that when contacting cnlaunch.com for technical support that there is about a 12 hour lag time-- if you send a message during business hours here in the US, they are on the other side of the world so it will be about twelve hours later that you will receive a reply. I would encourage you to take advantage of Launch technical support if you have issues or questions with the product before giving up and returning the scanner. I am an old, retired mechanic who still does some diagnostic consulting and I have been using scan tools since they were introduced back in the 1980s. I still think that, for the money, the Launch system is the best buy. Are there better scan tools? Yes, but they cost thousands of dollars and are dealer level tools. If you need that kind of system, then you're probably attempting to do dealer level service. Good Luck. If the Launch won't diagnose it, then I'm better off not getting involved anyway. I'm too old for a big ego in the auto repair world of the 21st century! PS: I get a good many questions on amazon concerning specific functions of the Launch X431V. Let me say this; if I have personal experience with something, I'll tell you. However, some questions concerning certain specifics (i.e. key programming, resets, etc) I cannot know until it is connected to that particular car and that function is attempted. Usually, the newer the vehicle the more comprehensive the coverage. Launch encourages users to file a report (through the scanner) concerning issues with specific vehicles. The media could not be loaded. This is a incredibly powerful diagnostic tool. I work for a major luxury car brand and this Launch tool is easily 5 times quicker to get to the same information as the factory tool. Time is money in the auto industry. It's also incredibly well built. The handheld portion of the scanner is very solid feeling with a heavy rubber protection around the edges. Very important in case it's dropped. It can do the same coding as the factory scan tools including hexadecimal programming as well as other coding that is locked out on the factory equipment. Example, version coding the lighting for a different country to unlock features. Overall I couldn't be happier with this purchase. ... show more

My hobby of working on cars has grown quite a bit over time. I used to just have a code reader and was feeling the need for an upgrade. I chose this one because as it is just a hobby I didn't want to go overboard and buy one of the expensive ones. This one seemed middle of the road and it is a very good fit for me as a hobbyist. I work on friend's cars all the time and also my kid's cars. It seems to be speedy when communicating with the cars I have tried it on so far. In all, I would highly recommend this for anyone in a position similar to mine. It certainly is not something a pro would opt for, but for me it is a great purchase. A couple negatives are as follows: First, it is loaded with data for every vehicle under the sun. I have not found a way to wipe out the myriad of vehicles that are international that I will never have a need for in the database. It would be nice if they had an easy way to clean out all items that will never be used. Second, the Android version is way back in the 7 vintage. Like everyone else reading this review, that makes it feel old and dated more than it should be. I do not know the reasons behind using old android versions in these machines, but if that could be brought up to date, I would definitely upgrade my review from 4 stars to 5. Third, the actual software could be a little less clunky. There is a lot of picking an option then backing out to find a different option. I am sure part of that is me being new to the tool and it will improve in time. All I am saying is it could be more clearly laid out and labelled better. All this product is good for is the bi-directional operation. I read in the description that it can program keys. I contacted support and they stated I have to purchase a separate tool accessory, which was NOT mentioned in the description. Technical support is broken english. Buy from a local parts store that sells these on the USA side. Do NOT buy this China garbage. I'll be returning mine. ... show more
