We gave this as a Christmas gift to our grandson and granddaughter and they played with them outside in the cold all night. It took a few minutes to learn how to toss it correctly, but then it was taking off high into the air, flashing colors as the kids were chasing them. We all loved chasing it, too. This is a cool little gadget! The lights are really nice at night, while they're cycling through different modes. However, it's not nearly as simple as the videos appear. It wants to "run away" from you even while just hovering it over your hand. If I get time, I'll try to practice...always been a fan of new stuff! These were the hit of the Christmas and the office. We have had -hours- of fun and accompanied by laughter. Wish the battery life was a little longer BUT they charge quickly and of course the little batteries can be expected to last too long. I give the Orb Balls 5 stars

Interesting flying orb but it is unstable when tilted at the wrong angle. I always thought the whole point of these "gyro" shelf hovering devices had enough hardware logic in them to make them stable but this certainly does not. It has two opposing propellers but has only one LED strip that spins to make the pretty light patterns but without a counter-balance, this causes the whole orb to vibrate so any slight deviation from its vertical position, it will shoot off at speed crashing into walls etc. Maybe my orb had a fault but it was near impossible to make it hover above my hands like in the video. ... show more
