  • tBest ANC buds for under $100, but get some Spinfit tips if you want them to say in!
Color: Black
Got these after watching and reading all the positive reviews, and after having used them for about 6 months, I can say that they are exceptional ANC earbuds, especially for the price (if you can get them on sale for $60-70). Despite the great value, they are super comfortable (hence the name) and the audio quality is great as well, meaning they are very balanced/neutral. There's nothing overpowering, they're not piercing up top or too heavy down low, just right, and warm. If you really want ground thumping bass, you may want to go with something else, like the Edifier Neobuds Pro or the Soundcore Liberty 3 Pros, otherwise, the bass is acceptable and I like bass. The ANC is one of the best there is, and call quality is excellent. Overall, these are a great buy for the money, but you definitely need some aftermarket eartips to get them to say in. To break em down by category; Design: 2 Stars - These are obviously a stem-style design, which wouldn't be that bad if they weren't smooth, glossy, and curvy. Without any sharp edges or angles to grip onto, these become incredibly slippery, especially when some of your skin grease starts to get on them. They are also a bit on the large side and they're very long. I would have much preferred a design like the Edifier NeoBuds Pro. The Case: Although nice and compact, it was poorly designed. It feels flimsy and cheap and it makes taking out the buds really difficult, again, because they're glossy, curvy, and slippery and there's no easy way to pick them out of the case. Even in the manual it says to press on the stem, to get the other sides to pop up a bit, so you can get a better grip on them, which is ridiculous to me, but it's what you have to do either way. If you buy the black version, your case will come with a silicone rubber case-cover that fit on with double-sided tape. I can't recommend this enough, because, once installed, the case becomes so much nicer in so many ways. It becomes easier to open, it feels more premium, it takes away from the flimsy feel, and closing the case, due to the added weight of the covers, makes for a more satisfying feel. For those who chose the white or blue versions, sorry, but this added protective cover isn't included, I don't know why they chose to do that, it's really what makes the case. Comfort: 5 stars - As I said, these are incredibly comfortable. They are lightweight and because they are a stem design, there isn't anything to fatigue your ear other than the ear tips themselves, otherwise, it's just like they are resting lightly in your ears. I've worn these for the entire duration of the battery life multiple times with 0 fatigue. Fitment: 1 Star (stock) / 5 Stars (with new tips) - The biggest problem that I had with these buds is that they wouldn't stay in my ears. I couldn't get a good seal and eventually, they would work themselves back out of my ears and literally just fall out. I was going to return them, but I took the recommendation of some other reviewers and bought a set of SpinFit CP360 ear tips. The stock tips are just way too slippery and they don't grip skin at all, especially once a little grease from wearing them gets on them, but once I swapped them out for the SpinFits, it was way better, I mean, what a difference, it was literally night and day. Now, not only did they create a perfect seal, but because they grip skin so well, once they were in, they stayed in, no matter how much I moved my jaw. So, do yourself a favor and if you get these, make sure you get a set of SpinFit CP360's as well. Sound Quality: 4 Stars - It's very neutral, a bit warm even. No piercing treble and no rumbling bass, but nothing seemed too faded either. All music sounded good. Would I have liked a customizable EQ, you bet, but even without it, the stock tuning is actually quite good, but if you're one of those people who love turning up the treble and bass, then this might not be for you. I, personally, would prefer just a bit more bass and maybe a teeny tiny bit more treble, or maybe just the ability to adjust them a little bit myself (if you get the blue version of these, they give you ~20 different presets to choose from, which is way better, but again, why they only limit this feature to the blue set, which costs about $30 more, I dunno, but overall, I can appreciate that for a single dynamic driver, the tuning is such that it can apply to all genres of music and still sound great. ANC: 4 Stars - There wasn't much difference between the modes, side from Ambient Mode. The Ambient Mode on these is by far the most natural-sounding I've ever heard. There is only the faintest of white noise, so faint you barely notice it at first, and after a few seconds, you forget it's even there. It's so good in fact that I wore these around for about 4-5 hours, doing errands, going to the bank, having conversations with people and I eventually forgot they were even in. As far as ANC, I didn't really notice just how good it was until I tried using it while in the car. My exhaust pipe recently cracked, making for a very loud driving experience, so I put these in and turned on ANC and WOW, the whole world went quiet. It was such a strange experience, but I have to admit, they did a fantastic job of blocking out everything. 5 out of 5 stars for sure. The difference between the modes is very subtle, however, so I'd say just keep it on Strong. Volume: 4 Stars - These can actually get fairly loud. When I'm at home, they are perfectly loud enough for me, but it's when I'm in a car or some other form of transportation when I want enough volume to overcome the background noise, and that's when they're just barely not quite loud enough. It's not that bad, but it's slightly disappointing. If I could get just another 2-3 notches it would be perfect for all situations. Bass: 4 Stars - It's decent, but don't expect these to "rumble". It's reasonable bass, enough where you can listen to any sort of music and enjoy the experience, but if you're a bass head or the type that really wants to feel the bass, and you need that deep rumbly bass that a set of 12" woofers in the trunk would give you. I like a bit more bass depending on the genre and although these will sound great for things like Rock, Pop, and Jazz, it's just not quite enough for me for things like Hip Hop or EDM. I used to have subs in my trunk and I kinda want that type of bass again, which these just can't deliver. Call Quality: 4 Stars - Sounded good, better than most, including some of the most expensive models. Microphones: 5 stars (when they work), but mine are having a problem in that, they don't seem to work all the time, so a lot of the time people can't even hear me when I try to answer or make a call with these in, and I have take them out and use the phone speaker, which sucks. I've contacted 1More to see what they can do about this. For other people who seem to have a similar issue and people say they can't hear you or that you sound really far away, that's why. It's not that they suck, it's that you have a faulty set, cuz when they do work, the voice sounds crystal clear (according to other people I call as well as playback from voice recordings). Value: 5 Stars. For the price, these are unbeatable. Overall: 4 Stars! ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised
Color: White
I've had a couple in ear headphones in the past, both wireless and wired, always hated them. They make my head feel stuffy, and hearing my own breathing or the sound of the cable rubbing my clothes being beamed directly into my skull was distracting. So I didn't have high hopes for these despite the good reviews, but because I walk every day and wear a big hat for sun protection, I often can't use my over ears. So in ears it is. On to the review: -Presentation- Pretty standard, it's a modern looking box with a magnetic flap to open. -Accessories- Comes with a couple tip sizes, a USB A to C charging cable, and a little cloth bag to store the case in. -Control App- It's very basic but in a good way, has the ANC selection modes and shows the case and bud battery life as well as a section for customizing the touch controls. -Look- I'm not crazy about the tapered stem, but it certainly doesn't look bad at all and I'm overall happy with it. The case is a case, it looks fine, nothing to complain about. The vibe is definitely Apple clone, but that's to be expected from a product designed to be an Airpods alternative. -Feel- Feels quality, nothing loose or squeaky on the buds themselves, the included tips are pretty comfortable, but I ordered some memory foam replacement tips for that extra mile in comfort. The charging case feels quality as well, no flimsy hinge or rough edges anywhere. The magnets that hold the case shut and the earbuds in place seem appropriately strong. The buds are easy to get in and out. -Pairing- It's a bit confusing for the first pair (I'm used to needing to hold a button to enter pairing mode, these do it automatically the first time you pair them), you have to open the case which causes the buds to flash blue and sync to each other, then they enter pairing mode flashing red and blue. My iPhone XR took awhile to recognize them, long enough that I was starting to think the buds weren't going to pair, but then it showed up and they paired as they should. Once paired to a device the buds auto connect when you open the case. I haven't had any issues with them connecting once paired, they connect almost instantly. If you need to pair them to another device, there's a little button inside the case. -Sound- I'm very picky about sound. I'm not an audiophile by any stretch, but I know what I like and what I don't like. These sound pretty warm, the bass is definitely present but not overstated or particularly powerful (not that I expected it to be from such a tiny driver), the mids can sound slightly muffled, which I fixed in Spotify by lowering the 400hz and 1khz range in EQ a bit. With that done they sound really good. But overall they're good out of the box for music. Listening to podcasts and Youtube videos however was a bit of a letdown although still acceptable. To me podcasts to a small degree and Youtube videos especially (I blame Youtubes garbage tier compression) sounded like they lacked depth and clarity, and on iPhone at least there's no EQ to fix it so I'll just have to live with it. -ANC- Wow. This is my first pair of headphones with ANC, so I wasn't sure what to expect other than knowing that it has its limitations, sudden sharp sounds won't be cancelled out much if at all, but ANC shines at removing steady low tones like aircraft engines or fans. My first impression with the ANC on these was pretty magical, I have a big fan in my room I use for white noise, it's pretty loud. Popped these buds in, hit ANC Strong in the app and.... almost silence. I say almost because I could still hear the fan, but instead of sounding like a mini jet engine, it was just a very very quiet background whisper. Its actually kind of jarring at first, but in a wonderful sort of way. It's a VERY weird feeling walking up to a big fan running at full speed and just hearing a faint pshhhhhhhhhhhhh. As for the other modes, they work as expected. ANC Mild is just a halfway point between the strong mode and no ANC. I probably won't use ANC Mild at all, but it's nice that it's there. Wind Noise Reduction is brilliant, I tested it on my walk today and it successfully cancelled out 15mph winds, and by successfully I mean it went from very loud wind sounds that overwhelmed my music, to absolutely no wind sound that I could perceive. The wind noise reduction mode seems to use ANC mild for the non wind sounds, which I appreciated because I could still faintly hear cars approaching while listening to music. Though it would be nice if you could use WNR in combination with ANC Strong mode. If you plan on using these for outdoor activities this is a killer feature. -Negatives- There's no built in EQ, which I'm not pleased about but was aware of going in. I feel like this is a relatively basic feature that's important for allowing you to tune the sound to how you like it, so it should be included. Luckily my primary use is music via Spotify, and Spotify has EQ in their app. The touch controls aren't the best. There's no single tap controls, only long press, double tap, triple tap. All of these are locked to specific actions. Touch and hold can only be used for activating ANC, double and triple tap share play/pause, previous/next, volume up/down and voice control. This means for example if you want play/pause and previous track/next track you can't have volume control and must change the volume using your phone. Not a big deal, but I don't like having to pull my phone out for for basic controls. -The Bottom Line- I'm very pleased with them so far. ANC is the big killer feature for me here, and the sound is better than I expected but didn't blow my socks off. Though compared to similarly priced wireless earbuds (and even to a number of more expensive earbuds) it's very good. If you're on the fence about these, don't be, they're great for the price and these will be my daily use earbuds going forward. ... show more
