I've been needing to get a new laptop for some time so I made sure to do a lot of research and consult with my more computer savvy friends. After a ton of consideration, I settled on this computer and, so far, it's amazing. I got everything I wanted in the overall system, including the optical drive, which is a must for me. It's also lighter than my previous laptop, with a nice, sleek design. Windows 10 isn't my favorite but I'm learning how to work with it. We are dell fans, this is our 8th laptop purchase in 10 years, we only get new ones when we’re ready for upgrades. I love the sleek design of this laptop. I loved when I turned it on, the computer started talking to me regarding set up, during set up I didn’t have to lift a finger as I was able to answer out loud, it was super cool, super easy, I didn’t have to do much at all, the computer did the work. 😃. I don't understand what is going on with the machine. When I boot it it comes up with do I want to boot from volumne 2 windows 10 or volumne 6 windows 10. I also get a message saying there is something wrong with the machine and it will restart. I thought upgrading to Windows 10 Pro might fix something, but nothing has changed. When I looked at the disk partitions, drive 0 (C) has a single NTFS partition - NO recovery partition. Drive 1 has 4 partitions, 2 recovery, 1 EFI, and 1 NTFS primary. What? Do I need to wipe everything and reinstall Windows 10 Pro? For what I paid I expected it to work correctly out of the box. The C drive should have the EFI partition as well as a recovery partition. I ordered the unit with max memory and 1TB SSD drive and a 1TB hard drive, I think someone screwed up during the upgrade. It is also getting slower and slower during boot up. If this is the best they can offer, I strongly recommend looking somewhere else. If I get any response from them I will update this review accordingly. I shouldn't have to fix something that arrived in less than 100% working order. UPDATE: I tried contacting the company for help, don't go there, beyond frustrating! I also found out (talking with a local computer repair company and a retired software engineer) that this company has less than adequate support as well as less than functioning service technicians. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. Some of you might wonder if I really know what I am talking about, my degrees are in Computer Science, and for those of you who are old enough to remember, I used to work on ARPA net. It has been a good laptop! For reference, I use it for school tasks (Word, Excel, internet browsing, etc.) The only cons are: - short battery life and the webcam is pretty grainy (I was expecting that)

I love how fast it is. I have a Desktop that is 12gig ram, but it doesn't compare to the 16gig ram that this offers. I just love that it turns on instantly and I can get right to work on it. I also appreciate that it came with 1Tb SSD. Very good price for the value you are getting in this laptop. I have seen other brands that don't come close to the features of this laptop and yet they want 2X the price of this one. So get yourself a new laptop if you need it and make sure it is this one.
