    • Better than I was expecting
I got the 3070 model with 1TB and 16GB. What I didn't know is the fact the R9 processor includes integrated Radeon graphics. I'm sure I read it somewhere and it never clicked. Why is that a big deal? Because you can set the device to turn off the RTX chip when you are on battery. The SOC from AMD is far more power efficient. Granted, you aren't going to want to game in that set up. But sitting on the couch using the laptop in "mindless browsing" mode, that is a wonderful, battery-saving addition I had not factored. The build is excellent. The body feels solid and the screen is crisp and smooth. I've never used a screen over 60HZ with Windows before and I am amazed with the 1440p 165hz model on this machine. I have seen reviews online about the display not being real bright but I must have come from a long line of dim devices because this thing is almost blinding to me. That said, I do tend to use a computer in a darker room out of preference. The trackpad is the best I've used on a PC laptop. The keyboard is good; better than my work Lenovo that annoyingly has the FN and CTRL buttons swapped. My issues: 1. The fingerprint sensor seems hit or miss compared to other devices I have used. 2 . The speakers sound a little muddy; probably because I think the sound is coming out of the exhaust vents. I have adjusted them a little, but they aren't the best out there. Definitely give the Dolby app a tweak off the defaults. 3. While not as bad as other vendors, there was still a good bit of junkware for my liking as I usually do completely completely clean Windows installs. And maybe that is what they are just including in Windows 10 these days. 4. Fans get loud when heavy gaming. Just get ready for it. Add that to the muddy speakers and I suggest using a set of gaming headphones Otherwise, I am happy with my purchase. It has been a long time since I upgraded my own computer as I was rocking an AMD FX with a Radeon HD 7900 video card which I used as supplemental heating in my office on cold days.     • Incredible machine for gaming/audio production. Minor issues
These guys build awesome gaming/creator notebooks! What a machine. I got a G15 3080, upgraded the ram to a stick of 32gb pc3200 and put in a Samsung 970 evo drive (with custom copper thermal grizzly heatsink job) to boost the read/write speeds ~20% from the stock drive included when shipped. One issue I did have is that although the G15 has two m2 ports [and I was intending to bump the OEM primary to secondary data storage], the secondary port [on the L when upside down] has the fastener screw completely thread locked in place... I near stripped it trying to remove it, and of course you don't want to press too hard because you're pressing on mobile mobo and components directly underneath. Scrapped my efforts to utilize both m2 ports due to this and simply running the upgrade drive solo, for now. Machine takes calibrating to really maximize performance gains. Suggest following several "optimize your Win pc for gaming" videos. Consider undervolting where applicable and make sure your nvidia settings are properly configured, including ensuring Win 11 is [manually] preferring the nvidia "discreet" gpu to run games in high priority. ... show more

    • WON'T even Turn On after 2nd repair, have to send it back again, when this NIGHTMARE will stop !!!
May 23, 2022 (update) Changed mother Board, later found out GPU issue (according to ASUS repair tech) when updating software. they claimed it's fixed and sent it back few days ago, this morning when I ask my son about the situation, he says it wont' even power on now !!! I'm SO....... P....I....SS....E..D. I don't think anyone deserve such treatment after spending around $3000 birthday present. Bought it 09 13 2021. today's date 11 11 2021. I bought this for my son and everything went perfect for him until yesterday. The laptop just refuse to power on. It happened before but it rebooted after power on. I'm very disappointed especially this happens from such reputable company. As a retired computer engineer I just can't describe my awful feeling about their QUALITY !!!! Update: 12 06 2021 returned for repairing, after 3 weeks, got an email from seller indicating that the MOTHERBOARD is faulty and need to be replaced !! This problem turns out even worse than I thought. There are thousands parts on the MB which complicate the situation. How in the world that a laptop can pass through Testing engineer+ Burn in+ QA+ Drop test etc. etc. is beyond me. ( I have been in the computers' field for over 30 years). Although this item has passed the deadline for refund I still consider it should be regarded as DOA since my son was busying apply College and the total usage time of this laptop is not even one week. I hope the seller reconsider my request of "FULL REFUND" Update 04/16/2022 Now have to send it back again due to window 11 software update issue, it just won't work by following the given instruction. The old saying: You get what you pay for applies here. HiDevolution offers the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 full force. this beast of a laptop crushes most desktop builds of similar caliber. Yes, of course you could build a similarly spec'd machine but you still have to account for a) GPU shortages b) Buying a high refresh rate monitor. 10/10 GPU Performance 10/10 CPU Performance 8/10 Noise Level (I recommend only using Turbo mode if you live alone) 10/10 Build Quality 5/10 Biometrics My only problem with the laptop, that was mentioned in another Amazon review was the lack of backlit customization features and- for whatever reason, my model's fingerprint scanner does not function as advertised, I've tried multiple times to store and use the fingerprint unlock.
