Description

APPLICATIONS THIS FITS: 2011-2019 F-150 5.0L 2011-2019 F-150 5.0L with Roush/Whipple superchargers 2011-2019 F-150 3.5L Ecoboost 2015-2019 F-150 2.7L Ecoboost 2017-19 Raptor 3.5L Ecoboost 2015-2018 Expedition 3.5L Ecoboost JLT 3.0 Oil Separator 3oz Capacity Solid billet construction. OEM Style quick connect PCV fittings Multi stage filter system designed to collect the finest of vapors and drop them into the easily removable bottom while allowing clean air to pass through to the intake. EASY INSTALL Easy Plug & Play installation How does it work? During the process of venting crankcase pressure back through your intake track, large amounts of oil, in the form of vapors can gather/accumulate in your intake tube, intake manifold runners and even dilute your gas, lowering its octane level. This happens in all engines and is even worse with forced inducted vehicles (supercharged and turbocharged) as crankcase pressures are increased. To combat this, we have developed an oil separator of our own design. Milled from solid billet aluminum this is a rock solid piece. It has a knurled tank base for easy removal to drain the spent oil and an O-ring seal to prevent any leaks. Filtering consists of a fine mesh stainless steel screen that traps fine oil vapors and releases them once heavy enough to fall. They then pass through a 1/2" thick 1/16th" aluminum honeycomb filter where they grow even larger and then fall into the bottom. By the time the oil gets through the filter it's too heavy to be passed on into the intake. The tank holds 3 oz of fluid, while that may not sound like a lot, you shouldn’t see that much oil in your PCV system. Drain it every 2000-3000 miles and you will never come close to filling it. WHY JLT? Our kits are easy install, service and flat out work! Many kits use OEM hoses or come complete with all hoses, custom brackets and hardware for an OEM look. Retain stock hose if you ever return to stock.

  • Great high quality product
Installed the JLT Oil Separator on my 2012 f150 3.5 eco boost and my 2013 asell after doing some research on them. Came across the JLT one as I wanted to get something with good reviews and a overall a fair price. Once I got the product just looking at the box you could tell it was high quality and by a company who backed the product they was selling. Seems to come with a lifetime warranty which is awesome, but to be fair I doubt many would have issues where they would actually need to use it, but only time will tell. Installation was pretty easy and straight forward, I did have a slight issue with the inserts for the battery tray clips, they wouldn't quite fit in the bottom hole so I had to drill the hole to make it bigger on my battery box. But once I got that sorted out installation took maybe 30 minutes. Overall a high-quality product for the price, would recommend. ... show more

  • Easy installation and great customer support
Installation took 15 minutes. Hopefully will save some engine wear in the future. Lost a mounting screw during installation and had a close fit at home. After a quick email through the customer support website, got an immediate response and J&L are sending another free of charge. Great customer service. ... show more

  • First gen 3.5 L Ecoboost engines have an issue with carbon buildup. I believe this product helps.
I’ve had this JLT Oil Separator for more than two years. Truth is, I don’t remember if I bought it on Amazon (ETA: I did), but I know that it’s true that 1st gen 3.5 L EB engines ( in particular) have an issue with carbon buildup around the valves. My 2013 has 112,000 miles on it and has performed flawlessly. There are solids, in the form of a light brown paste, in the separator along with oil. Is this the kind of gunk that ends up as carbon around the valves? Probably. All I know is that my truck engine runs great and I’m glad I have the JLT oil separator. ... show more

  • 2017 Ford Raptor. Get the drill!!!
For the price it feels like a well made product. The instructions are clear and they even have pictures to reference. One thing that I was surprised about but not against it your going to need to drill the edge of the battery tray to install I used the J-Clips but could have used the nuts for a cleaner look but the J-Clips are better for longevity sense there was no washers supplied and uninstalling if needed in the future. Notes for install if I were to do It again… 1. Use a drill bit that is slightly bigger than the 6mm bolt. I used a perfect bit and I ended up needing to woller it out, yes that’s an Industry term. 2. The holes will need to be close to the edge because the clips only go so far towards the battery this is what I messed up the most. I put the holes in the center of the and should have been closer to the edge facing the coolant expansion tank. 3. Make sure the bracket isn't squishing the wiring harness, mine turned out fine but just keep that in mind. Vibration plus metal bracket equals future problems with wiring. Over all easy install and only because I made 8 trips though the house to get to the garage sense my door is broken at the moment it took me about 45min from when I opened the box to having all the tools put up. Now time to see how good to catch’s that slug. ... show more

  • A bit PRICEY in my opinion, but can't beat the quality engineering & ease of installation!
Installed on my 2016 Ford F-150 w 1st Gen 3.5 EcoBoost motor & 30K on the odometer... Took a grand total of maybe 15-20 minutes to remove OEM hoses, drill the optional extra hole in the battery box, and install the catch can using the preassembled hoses & fittings. Dang, so easy it didn't even warrant the typical cold beer afterwards, ha! Yeah, I probably could have fabricated my own setup for about half the cost, but it would have taken extra time to source all the individual piece-parts and then cobble it all together. The JLT setup appears SUPERBLY engineered, obviously utilizes high quality parts, and is clearly designed for ease of installation by folks with limited mechanical experience. Somebody knew what they were doing when they designed this kit & put it into production... ... show more

  • Super easy to hook up
I was recommended to instal this on my 2013 King Ranch F-150. Incredibly easy to hook up and highly recommended in helping protect your engine.

  • 2013 F150 Ecoboost 3.5
I don't normally write reviews. That being said, if you have a 3.5 ecoboost engine, and you're on the fence about this product... buy it now. Fairly easy install, had to tap a hole into the battery box for the mount (not really a big deal). The engine cover was a bit tight to get on after the separator was installed (again, not a big deal). I took a 500 mile trip the day after install, and decided to check and see if anything was collected. I was floored at the amount of gunk that was collected in such a short trip. I probably dumped 1.5 ounces out of the catch can. Can't believe that amount was being put back into the engine, especially after only 500 miles. Wish I found out about this product earlier. A++ for quality and performance! ... show more

  • Easy to install
From what I can tell, it is doing the job. Keeping the truck from running oil back through the intake valves. Happy with it.
