This year I decided to surprise my daughter with a pirate themed treasure hunt on Saint Patrick’s day! So of course I went looking for treasure! I am really pleased with this 300 piece set. It’s more coins than I anticipated. The size matches the description well. They are pretty lightweight but they have some cool details which are different on each side of the coin. I thought that was super cool. Other coins I’ve seen in the past have far less detail and are only one sided. I am still putting the treasure hunt together, but I can’t wait to see her face when she finds her treasure chest full of shiny booty! These can be used for games, play and props, crafts and so many other things when her hunt is over. These are pretty decent coins for the price and a great size for lots of decorating, but be careful if you have little ones. Some of the edges have peeling paint and rougher edges. There aren't that many but as a person around littles a lot, it's something to be aware of.

Turns out 300 coins is a lot. There's a good-sized baggie of these, and it's very satisfying. Great metallic finish, lightweight, stackable, and perfect for replacing the cardboard coins that many board games come with. Really elevates things and makes game days more immersive. Each coin is about 1 3/8" in diameter, with a different design on each side (an area where some coins cheap out). The only flaw is the flash and marks where the coins connected to a plastic sprue on the edges, but it's not too glaring. Very pleased overall. ... show more

I was looking for fake coins for decorating my classroom on St. patrick's day. These were great and came with alot of coins (300 pieces). I will put these in pots at the end of rainbows pictures. They are very lightweight and look great.

I got these to use as a prop for treasure. They're nice and bright and although the detail is a little too clean for my taste, it's at least an interesting design that was clearly influenced by the old Spanish dollars (aka Pieces of Eight). A surprising bit of detail, the coins have reeded edges. This is an odd choice because these coins had milled or patterned edges. It does seem to make the edges reflect more light, so maybe that's why. The coins are a bit thin and light so not great to feel like treasure, but they do clink nicely when dropped on a hard surface or against each other.
