I love making quilts and one of my favorites things is to match prints together to make a scrap block. Having these squares come in sets of four is so helpful so that you can make 4-patch blocks, of use four of them in a 9 patch. I have a bunch of 4" squares that I need to see how many blocks I can make. I know that some quilter recommend making a scrap quilt by putting dark prints in a brown bag and having light prints in another brown bag and then when you make your block pull out the amount of lights and darks from their respective bags and sew them together. That is not my philosophy when it comes to making scrap quilts. I work hard to make sure that the prints in each block go together in a nice blend so that someone who is not a quilter will think that the design is well thought out. At least that is what I try to do. One of the interesting things I have come across when I get a set of scrap pieces from here at Amazon, is that I can run into prints that I have seen and used in other scrap packs. I did this time. I will be trying to see if I have any leftover pieces from that set. I am very happy with this set of prints. I need to get my cutting table cleaned off so that I can 'play' with this fabric as well as doing some other playful things I want to do. The snowplow went by a little bit ago, so I think we are actually into winter and staying home even more than I usually do to work on my hobbies. I appreciate the opportunity to use these fabrics. This is such a good assortment of fabrics - there are of each print shown in my pictures (although it's probably random each order overall). I felt that they mostly go together color wise BUT as you can see in my pictures some of them are a stretch (middle row in pic w/3 rows or the pic with the least fabric). I thought these felt too soft and were too shiny to be 100% cotton BUT I WAS WRONG! I may be a hillbilly but the way I check is to pull a string off and lighting it with a lighter - blow it out - then feel it. If it is smooth then it's cotton, if it has a charcoal like ball - polyester of some sort. This fabric is cotton for sure. I find it to be comparable to quilt shop fabrics. I found that these are cleanly cut but possibly a thread short of the claimed 4x4 size. What I like about these over some charm packs is there is no pinked edge to have to cut off. Any threads you see in the pictures is because I've been arranging and rearranging them dreaming of quilting plans. (done about 12x) This set is VERY WELL PRICED - can't get anything locally for this price for sure. With 100 squares (1 pack) you would have enough to make a small baby quilt without no more fabric to the front. (approx 35" squared) Great starter for any new quilter. Or like me a fabric hoarder who always wants variety :) ... show more

I received four identical sets of 50 different patterns. I ordered the "floral bundle" but many of the pieces contained no floral design at all (which is stated by the seller - 85% floral fabric, 15% dot, striped and cartoon fabric). The fabric was cut true to size and the quality is nice with a slight sheen. I plan to use this fabric for applique sewing projects and scrappy quilting where variety is always needed. I took off one star because I don't care for the "cartoon" fabric design. At this price point, the bundle would work well for beginners who want to experiment but not spend a lot of money on high end fabric or for other sewers/crafters who want to add to their fabric stash. ... show more

This is good fabric for quilting, not like some of the others where the thread count is low, this bundle has a great feel to it. There are a lot of prints, I counted 51 before the patterns started to repeat, so roughly each square will have four per pattern. I intend to make a scrappy half square triangle quilt with these, I can't wait to get it started. Overall, there are very few that I won't use, there are some directional stripes and some kid prints with animals, but I'll still be able to make a good sized quilt.
