The wood stakes do not easily go on the ground and if you try to hammer them they break off. Piece of junk .. I have mixed feelings about this fence. It is well made - very well made actually. The bamboo is thick and it’s cut smoothly so no splinters. It’s packaged neatly and thoughtfully. However, it is much more of a project to build and install than I had planned. I was hoping to just stick segments in the ground and push down with my hands like I’ve done with similar metal garden fences and have the thing up in about 10-15 minutes. It’s not to be. This requires actually putting all the pieces together since it can’t be installed without putting in 80 little screws and washers. I don’t think I would have ordered it had I know what was required. I also wish it didn’t have the plastic ivy piece with it. It looks cheap so I won’t use, so just a waste for the landfill. If you have some eager to help kids, this would be a good project and maybe even a feature since it would occupy them while you do less kid-friendly tasks. The construction of this garden fence seems to be of good quality, but the design seems leave something to be desired. First, this is a bamboo fence, but all the connectors, cable ties and bolts, are dark black. An odd color combination to me. Second, as you can see from the photo, the wooden spikes that go into the ground have to be individually attached to each panel with the black bolts. Then you have to drive the spikes into the ground-not that easy with the fence panel attached. You could drive the spikes first, but then you have alignment issues attaching the panel, especially as the holes in the spike are just barely big enough to get the bolt through. The instructions show a hammer hitting the top of the spike with the panel attached, that is not going to be easy. Once the panel is in the ground, you are supposed to connect it to its nearest neighbor with cable ties. This is a lot of hand assembly for a small fence. I can probably make this work, but it will take a lot more time than I envisioned. ... show more

I’m not happy with this box of decorative fencing. It’s made of thin bamboo and could not withstand the pressure of being stuck in the ground. It literally shattered. They were kind of flimsy when I was putting them into the ground. I think I broke two of them. But, they were pretty cheap, so I'm not surprised. They do exactly what I need them to do now. I have a small dog who likes to stick his head through the fence. This has stopped that completely.
