These are a nice set of knives, however, I was surprised to find that they were both rather dull and will require sharpening right out of the box, which is why I subtract a star from the review. Nevertheless, you can't beat the price.

Seems to work great for cutting cut- plug herring and I have cleaned 10 Coho salmon with it so far without needing to re-sharpen it yet.

    • I got exactly what I paid for
These knives won't fillet fish. They're not sharp enough to do so, nor did I expect a $7.50 knife to be a filleting machine. If anyone is a serious fisherman, and they have been to a combat fishing location, not my cup of tea by any means, but in late August there is a place where I can pull 30 plus pound bright Kings that are chrome bright and people steal your knives. I lost even cheapy Rapala knives. I bought these knives and they looked so cheap, no one tried stealing them. I left the out in the open and no one touched them. I could gut my salmon, clean them, remove the gills, and remove the bloodline, and put them one ice so my good knives could fillet them at home. State laws says you have to keep the head and all the fins on the fish so the game warden can identify the sex and species of the fish, so this knife worked perfectly. It cleaned my fish, and I was able to get them on ice to have perfect fish for home. ... show more
