listen these are good wheels for your gate, just not long enough for my needs, I'm going to cut them in half and weld some flat bars on them to extend them.

These gate support wheels are good for the price, dropped 2 stars because the mounting holes are significantly larger than the hardware provided so they don’t stay nice and straight due to the tolerances.

I needed to build a fence gate about 92 inches wide to fit my mower through. A double gate each 46 inches fit the bill and given the size of each gate and the fact that they would lean into each other and not rest on an anchored post meant reinforcement would be helpful to prevent sagging. Hence I bought these 2 Pack Spring Loaded Adjustable Gate Wheel, 4 inch to support each gate. Installation was a since and the locking wheels are great to prevent the double gate from moving with high winds we get in NC during the hurricane season. I have had them installed for 2 weeks now and have been happy with how they are holding up so far. I have some bumpy terrain they must traverse and the spring loaded travel really helps to soak up some of the variance. ... show more

I mounted these on 2 gates. Had to modify them as I installed them on a grass surface. They might have worked on a concrete surface but on mowed grass they would pivot on the horizontal gate bar no matter how much I tightened them. I then mounted them on the gate end upright. Had to grind away a little of the weld on the bottom horizontal bar to get them to slide under the end of the gate upright. Then I made a strap for each U bolt and bolted them upright with the strap to secure them in place. Now the gate sits directly on the roller bracket and stay in place. For my application a larger diameter wheel would help too but it works as is. ... show more

My plans have changed so I can't give an in-use review, only what I can see and feel. These should work great for a gate. The wheels turn and swivel with ease and with no slack. The brakes hold tight and are easy to apply. The springs are nice and strong and should hold quite a bit of weight while allowing for the ups and downs of uneven surfaces. Installation looks pretty simple but I guess that depends on your application and abilities. I saw in another review someone suggesting placement, high or low, needed instructions. That has me pondering the same thing and is a legitimate concern. Much of that would depend on your gate weight, terrain, slope, current sag or not, etc. Other than trial and error I don't know if there is a solid answer that would apply to all.
