  • Great value for a perfect replacement, I highly recommend this product! Careful with the tri wing!
First of all, the included 00 tri wing screwdriver is too sharp, so either file it down to make it a bit more blunt or use a trusted tri wing screwdriver. Although I was careful, one of the screws is stripped and stuck, luckily after installing. It’s closed back up enough but still sticking out a bit. I’m probably gonna need a dab of superglue to get that screw out. The other three screws are in good shape, minor metal scrape, but next time I’m gonna use a better tri wing screwdriver. Now, onto the review I studied up on YouTube on how to replace the joysticks, I highly recommend reading and watching how to do it. It’s not that hard and I’m not a pro, but it’s easy enough once you know which screws to take out and where the ribbon cables are to avoid ripping. However like I mentioned, be very careful with the included tri wing screwdriver! In my excitement I rushed the last screw when putting the joy con back together, and now it’s stuck in place in the middle because the sharp point of the tri wing stripped the screw head. The philips head screwdriver worked fine for the inside of the joycon, but I’d still be careful. Another quick note, the ribbon cable on the stock joystick has a bit of a bend, and to be consistent and make sure everything fits like normal I bent the new joystick’s ribbon cable GENTLY to make the same shape. Overall, the installation was easy and quick since I had the process studied. After installing (and trying to get the stripped screw out in hopes of using one of the supplied replacement screws) I started up my switch and went straight to the controller settings. First I tested the input buttons to make sure every button was working as they should. Next I went into the calibration setting for the joystick. In a perfect world, you shouldn’t need to calibrate new joysticks or even new joycons. However, I’ve seen a few fresh out of the box needing calibration. The one new joystick I installed needed calibration, it didn’t fully reach the edge of the test circle. After the calibration, it works PERFECT. Like I said, in a perfect world you shouldn’t have to check the calibration of new joysticks and joycons, but you do have to. It’s quick, so just do it. So now with the new joystick working smoothly let’s talk appearance and feel of these joysticks. The joystick itself is identical in size and appearance, I had them next to each other to visually compare, and pressed them against each other after removing my old joystick to measure. They’re identical, which is great. The new joystick feels good. Compared to the stock joystick it might be just a bit springy, as in releasing the joystick from the edge and back to neutral. Otherwise feels the same and how a joystick should be. It rotated smooth and and just feels good to not have a drifting stick anymore. The joystick button press is also identical. Same click tension and depression. Again, it just feels good that it’s new. I’ve only just installed these so durability is unknown. But given the feel, I think it will last just as long as the stock joystick. I play docked mostly with a pro controller, so my joysticks already lasted this long from when the switch released. But now that I know how to replace the joysticks, I’m confident that stick drifting and faulty joysticks will never be a problem! This two pack of joysticks and tool kit saves a ton of money, and kept my original joycons alive! But don’t forget, the included tri wing screwdriver is too sharp! File it down, use a trusted tri wing screwdriver, or risk stripping a screw! I can’t replace the screw with the supplied replacement screws, if I can’t get it out! Great value and perfect replacement. I highly recommend this product! ... show more

  • Switch joystick repair
This kit worked great for my son's switch. He says it had "stick drift", first time we replaced the controller but they're expensive little things. This time when it happened again I looked for a repair kit. I repair vehicles so I figured I can fix this. This was pretty easy, hardest part is how tiny everything is. But it works great. Great price! ... show more

  • So far so good!
Okay! So I received this today and was very excited because new joycon controllers retail for $79.99 and I was not feeling that price at all. I pretty much did my morning routines and then got right to replacing the joycon stick. My left joycon was drifting upwards reallllly bad and I had tried re-calibrating it (which is something that you should do before you buy replacement sticks, just in case) but to no avail. I took the controller apart and used one of the replacement sticks and put everything back together again. I started up Animal Crossing and to my disappointment, my controller was drifting downwards this time. I was pretty annoyed because taking apart this controller with all the ribbons that it has is a little daunting and stressful, especially since it was my first time attempting anything like this. I decided to take it apart again and use the second replacement stick that comes in the package. Thankfully, this one worked and had no drift. It performed well with the calibration test and did not drift my Animal Crossing character at all. FINALLY! I really wanted to give this product 5 stars but I'm giving it 4 because one of the replacements did not work and I do still want to give it some time and see if this joycon holds up. It feels a little tighter than my right joycon but not too much of a noticeable difference to throw anyone off. I'm sure with time, it'll loosen up. I read the reviews before purchasing and saw some people had problems with the ribbon on the joycon being too long or not fitting properly and that did not happen for me. Other than one stick not working, I had no issues thus far. The joycon seems exactly the same as the other one and there are no physical differences or differences in texture. Overall, the pros: -Comes with all tools necessary for successful replacement. -Comes with four joystick covers. -Comes with new screws for the outside of the controller. Cons: -One was basically defective. Even though one was not working, I still found it worth it to keep them both instead of going through the process of returning and re-ordering. It would have taken too long for the next set to come in and I play my Switch every day so I would have been really annoyed with the drift. I'm going to tinker with the leftover ones and see if I can clean the inside... plus, I have the tools forever. All in all, I'm satisfied. I saved like $63 bucks so one defective joycon is not a huge deal for me. (Note: When taking controller apart, be careful with your (L) or (R) bumper... it can come out and the spring in there can get lost very easily... nasty little things.) ... show more

  • Kit Includes Everything You Need
This kit cost me $13 and some change and it came with everything I needed to replace BOTH joycon joy sticks for my Nintendo Switch. A quick search on YouTube and you'll find how to disassemble a joycon. The repair is relatively simple, just be very careful with the ribbon cables because if one rips, then you'll have another part to replace. I'd rate the repair difficulty 4/10. This is a great way to save money and your joycon if you have the confidence to repair it yourself. Since the kit comes with everything you need including the tools for the repair, and for such a cheap price, why not give it a try to repair it yourself. If you succeed, you've saved money from having to buy a new joycon(s), builds your confidence in electronics repairs, and you can keep the tools for any future repairs. ... show more

  • Great reliable control sticks replacement kit!
I loved having the convenient magnetic screwdrivers, tweezers, and rest of the kit for quick replacement and no experience needed. It even came with some rubber caps to slide over the top of them optionally - it makes a difference with big hands! Also, look up a video tutorial and take your time replacing them, as the joy-cons are very delicate inside, and calibrate your joy-con control sticks in settings after installing them. My Switch feels new again. Thanks! ... show more
