I was looking for the old fashioned kind for my mother who has had a stroke and can't talk well. She often can write a word that helps us understand what she is trying to say. I think she would get more satisfaction out of ripping the page up to clear it, but the button has not been hard for her to learn. It does work well, forming letters or pictures, but I would say I wish the writing was BRIGHTER. It's enough, but I just wish it were brighter. We used the batteries that came with it, so possibly a newer one would be brighter. It comes with a stylus that you can be tied to the tablet so you don't lose it. But my mother often tries to write on it with a pen, and so far has not damaged it. She had gone thru a great many paper tablets before this, and this makes it easier and litter-free. I've had these on my fridge for a while now - I use one to write down my planned dinners for the week (and cross them out when they've been made), and I use the other to write a list of groceries I need. I haven't had any issues with writing or erasing the board - everything, for both boards, works as expected. They're easy to read, they add a pop of color to my otherwise drab fridge, and overall, they're a great purchase. If I were to say one thing, it's that the adhesive on the magnets could be stronger. If I slide the boards around at all, the magnets stay in place on the fridge, but the board itself moves and I have to stick it back on. That started happening pretty shortly after getting them. This has a a bungee cord to attach the pen, which I found out within an hour of opening it, is very dangerous when two children are fighting over the toy and one of them pulls back on the pencil and it goes flying.
