This doodle mat is great for my toddler and keeps him distracted, but not as long as I would like lol. Anyway, it's got a lot of stencils and brushes/markers that you just fill up with water and they write on the mat with some kind of color changing surface. The best part is that it isn't messy! I only give my toddler one brush/marker at a time because I don't want him to lose the rest of the pieces. This is a great gift and temporary distraction for a toddler while I get things done. The media could not be loaded. The mat is thick and water does not spill through to the back. It came with two water paint brushes, two thick water pens and two thin water pens. Then thin ones fit in the stencils well. Comes with 4 stencils and several foam shapes. It also comes with a booklet that has some drawing ideas/instructions. Nicely mess free since it's really just water. A few things to note: If the kids have dirty feet the white drawing part of the mat picks up dirt quickly. The on/off arrows on the pen are the opposite. Turning the cap in the on direction takes the cap off, etc. The kids love it either way! ... show more

it functions well and it's fun to use. but the pens leak very easily, you have to stand them up or else you get a big puddle. and if they leak on the mat, they leave a water stain and then you can't color on that part, it doesn't work that well.
