  • Easy to fly
The media could not be loaded. Great gift for my grandsons, easy to assemble, easy to store, beautiful colors!

  • 15.00 for 2 Kites
The media could not be loaded. Upon first opening the package I felt a sense of disappointment. Taking them out I felt like they were made cheaply… and that they aren’t going to last. I opened the squid/octopus first and the instructions were confusing. I saw sticks in the main bag but the squid/octopus instructions didn’t say it needs any structural stick. I unraveled both ends of strings and tied the kite’s spool or reel onto the gold strings and as soon as I let it go it went up. I was shocked and honestly flying it for the 20 minutes or so with my son was worth the 15 alone. After this I got kind of excited for the next one. Again the instructions were more confusing than helpful, but since I have some experience with kites and with building tents (I know it’s odd to bring that up) I just winged it and it went up quickly too. Both flew fine. I don’t know how many uses we will get out of them as I only used them today, but these flew way better than the $20 Costco one I just returned, so here we are! I added a video of my 4 year old son flying the squid/octopus. ... show more

  • durable and good fliers
we decided to upgrade the kids from the quick cheap kites and really happy with the purchase with a few small disappointments. -kites launch well in the wind and easy to fly. actually got both of them stuck in trees and were both strong enough to pull free without ripping. -able to send them up in the air all day and they stay flying high and strong disappointment -the triangle kite original frame was too long so i had to cut it shorter. when i left it too long, it bowed the kite in a way that it hyper extended the kite and couldnt fly consistently. it would have been nice if the pieces were pre measured correctly. It would be great if could get some new supports. -when i sawed the fiberglass down, it unfortunately split the frame at the top and weakened the frame but was able to use packing tape to reinforce. -the kites flew consistently, but a small disappointment is the light fraying of ends of the kites at the end of the 2nd use. i can understand this may be common and we flew the kite for 5 hours so its makes sense. just a small deal, but is probably normal wear and tear. the octopus kite flies smoothly, while the triangle kite can easily shift directions and is more of an actively engaged kite to play with. Overall happy w the kites. ... show more

  • Great value & fun for all ages
You absolutely can't beat the value of 2 kites for $20. I and my husband used each kite once in light-moderate wind. Octopus kite review: Pros: -By far our favorite of the two -Almost no assembly > just had to tie the string to the kite! -Went up and stayed up well in light wind where many others were losing the battle (see beach photo) -Absolutely adorable up there - you can't help but smile watching it Cons -There is absolutely no way it is going back into the carrier it came in. With all the tails, it will need a much bigger bag. Not a big deal, though. Rainbow Kite review: Pros -It was nice to have two different options -Assembly was pretty painless, though the instructions make it much more complicated than it should -Folded back up well (after dis-assembly) Cons -It did not fly as well as the octopus -The problem is that the frame does not go all the way to the end of the kite so that it is a full triangle. As a result, those bits on the end of each wing flap around in the wind and make it unstable. This seems like a strange oversight, but I am no aeronautics engineer... Summary: I am not sure we will ever use the rainbow one again, but it is still nice to have 2 in case you ever need them. You can't beat this value. Totally worth it for light-hearted fun. Just get them. :) ... show more

  • They do fly but they don't last
These are fun "transient" kites for kids, but the assembly was a little bit trickier than expected as the instructions were hard to understand. Once assembled, they are rigid but the structure is weaker than hoped. First, the good news: both kites flew. Now, the bad news: one flew once and the other flew -- twice. One was eaten by the only tree in a square mile -- completely shattered -- 48 feet up. The other crashed onto the tin roof in the background. (The blue arrows are the respective crash sites.) The low cost of the kites fit the actual value in the end. Maybe. ... show more

  • Great kites!
The media could not be loaded. This item comes with 2 pretty well made kites. The instructions on the octopus are a little hard to understand, but just tie your string at the ends of the gathered strings. We had a blast flying these kites. Keep in mind we were in a marina by a lake so the winds are pretty strong there. Kites went up with no problems! ... show more

  • Good starter kite for kids
We liked the kite a lot - had a lot of fun. The rainbow kite is very easy to fly - doesn’t need much wind. However, it’s a bit tricky to assemble. It also gets ripped at the front after some abuse. The Octopus kite is not as easy to fly compared to the rainbow one. But in moderately windy times, it does great. I’d recommend buying - I felt it’s worth it. ... show more

  • Terrible quality and 1 won't fly
Just avoid these kites. The squid one is SO hard to get to fly. I just gave up after hours of trying. The second one took flight but the crossbar that gives it tension keep falling out and then eventually the string snapped causing it to fly away completely leaving me with just the squid one that won't fly. Shame, kids were looking forward to flying these as we went to an area well known for flying kites and they couldn't get theirs to fly. ... show more
