  • Fantastic, easy-to-fly kites!
Color: 2 Butterfly Kites Set
My kids got into kite-flying recently. Unfortunately, they’re also very good at accidentally destroying kites, so I’ve been ordering replacements. I picked this set out since it was beautiful, had two kites, and the kites had the “handhold” flap on the bottom that makes it easier for kids to launch them in the air while running. I brought my 11yo out to the park with me on a windy day when we broke these kites out. Assembly was a little tricky getting the poles in place, and while I love the security of the metal clip for attaching the string to the kite, I wish I had brought pliers to pinch them open for me given how much it hurt my thumb. These kites begged to be in the air. They went up easily and beautifully. I love how their wings appear to flap in the breeze. We received compliments from strangers on their loveliness. They stayed high for a very long time, so much that I had to reel them back in rather than wait for them to fall when it was time to go. Additionally, they appear quite durable. I had one get very stuck within the top of a tree, and I gave it a number of firm experimental yanks before I realized I needed the wind to help me and waited for a breeze to catch its wings and help me yank it loose. The yellow strings are easier to untangle and seem more durable than the other kite strings I’ve seen so far, and I’m quite happy with them. I’m very pleased with these kites and hope to enjoy them for quite some time before my kids inevitably destroy them too. ... show more

  • Great graphics; easy assembly
Color: Eagle & Snake Kite Set
I got these kites for our family vacation at the coast, where we can always count on having plenty of wind. After putting the two kites together, we hung them in the dining room just to enjoy the great designs. Our daughter and grandsons stopped by yesterday, and immediately her 4 year old wanted to take the eagle outside and try it out. There wasn't much wind, so we had trouble getting it into the air and keeping it there; but when we got a few gusts, the effect of the flying eagle, with its wingspan of more than five feet, was awesome! The cobra is pretty fierce looking, but, with its really long tail, it will be stunning high in the air at the beach. The fabric of both these kites is super lightweight, but is ripstop, so I'm hoping they will last. They set up and breakdown so quickly and easily that we will be able to keep them safe in between flights. On the other hand, they would be great decorations in the boys' playroom. Side note: I just checked yesterday's anemometer readings on our weather station for the period when we were trying to fly the eagle. The minimum was around 3mph, way too low for any kite; the "gusts" were around 6mph, barely enough to get the eagle into the air. Next time we plan on flying the eagle, we will aim for a day when we're going to get more than 6mph winds - pretty easy to accomplish in our windy area. ... show more

  • Jet fighters with very long, red contrails (tails).
Color: Fighter Plane Kites Set
I am 62 but was so excited to get these kites. It’s been more years than I can remember since I flew a kite. Boy have times changed! Gone are the basic diamond shaped kites made of plastic and wood. These kites are fighter jet shaped with awesome graphics. They are made of ripstop nylon and bungeed, tent-styled poles in the wings that break down to be able to fold the kite back up. The other poles are semirigid poles that fit into barrel type connectors. The poles are tiny! It would be easy to lose one (or two). The poles fit together to create the longitudinal backbone and the horizontal wing section and a single, very thin pole goes across the tail section. There are very long streamers (contrails) from the wings and tail, I guess they act as a kite tail. After I got one constructed I was ready to go fly. The kites come each with their own string spool which is spooled on a handle and with a swivel spring connector to the kite. As soon as I went outside the considerable wind that had been blowing strong all day went quiet. 🙄 I was so disappointed. I would get some gusts now and then but nothing to get the kite in the air and keep her up there. So I gave up and broke the kite back down and to my amazement, it packed back into its plastic sleeve and into the carrier that the kites come in. I have tried one other time since then with the same results. Wind that had been blowing strong went still. SMH 🤦🏻♀️. I did get one good gust that let me know if I had a sustained wind, this baby would fly. But for the most part it was basically nose dives to the ground. I’m still waiting on some good winds to completely test these. I haven’t even unwrapped the second kite yet. I’ll try it the next time. ... show more

  • Fun and Durable Kites; Great Size for Kids
Color: Fighter Plane Kites Set
My kids love playing kites at the beach. Looking for a larger kite that they can handle (they are still in grade school) is always a challenge. The DoinFly kites were very big and colorful. The kids loved the design and were able to actually put them together following the illustrated instructions. The kites include string, so after putting them together, the only thing we needed to do was head to the beach and fly. The kites were fairly large, but they did fit in the trunk of the car fully assembled. With the larger size and string, the kids couldn't stop playing with the kites. The wind at the shoreline wasn't too harsh and they were able to allow the kite to have some height. Because the design was so bright, the kite was easy to spot in the blue sky. The best part is the material used for the kite held very well so it's not crumbled or ripped. In fact we've been to the beach three times to play kite and they kites have held up without issue. The small bag included allows the kits to be taken apart and put away until the next time we get to play. Overall, I think these kites are great for kids as well as beginners who love to play kites. ... show more

  • Beautiful Large Butterfly Kites
Color: 2 Butterfly Kites Set
The colors and designs across the two butterfly kites are striking. The instructions were easy to follow and assembly was simple. This is my 5 year old's first kite and we had fun attempting to fly it. During our first trial the wind was only fair and unfortunately the kite took quite a few nose dives. I do wonder if a smaller kite might have been more successful our first time out, but given my inexperience with flying kites I'm going to chalk the issues up to the wind and my lack of skills. I'm hopeful that we have more luck our next time around. ... show more
