  • Interior speaker guard rubs against my ears
Style: Over Ear - VR Color: Black
The sound quality and software are excellent. More than enough customization to provide any sound you want. I have two major issues with this product: 1. The padding around the ears is too thin. My ears are in constant contact with the plastic speaker guard, and rub against this plastic mesh causing irritation that is often painful. My ears are average in size, and I have never had this problem with other over the ear headphones. 2. Microphone quality is only alright. It's a big step down from other headphones. Would like to see the next generation of this headset have a true microphone, at least as an option. Miscellaneous comments: 1. Surround sound is very good for listening to music. 2. Any sort of touch, tap, or rub made against the headset or the headset's wire can easily be heard in the headset. 3. Noise cancellation seems to be nonexistent. The materials alone seal the sound out fine; however, I am unable to notice any sort of noise cancellation. 4. RGB customization is lacking. Can only change the color, cycle between 3 lighting patterns, and turn ALL the lights on or off. I'd like to disable the RGB on the false mic because I find it distracting, but I cannot without turning off all the other lights. 5. I have my own audio setup with Voicemeeter for use with soundboards. For some reason, there is severe stuttering when I pass this headset's mic though Voicemeeter. I've tried changing settings on both my audio software and the headset's application with no improvement. ... show more

  • I bought this for my PS4
Style: Over Ear - VR Color: Black
This is the first time I ever shopped for or purchased a headset for gaming. While the headset looked nice and was packaged well, it definitely didn't live up to my expectations. I thought I would be able to get surround sound through it, which is why I purchased it, however it only does the surround sound when connected to a computer, running their software, which brings me to another problem. Trying to download their software onto my laptop, just to check it out, was a major hassle. The first 4 download attempts failed, even though my wifi network was running fine. Once I finally did get the drivers downloaded, Windows 10 gave me a full screen popup about this not being trusted software, so it was immediately removed from my computer with me having no chance to check out the 7.1 surround sound. The headset also seemed like it would get heavy, in a longer gaming session. It was also difficult to get it to sit comfortably on my head, it tended to feel wobbly, but that could be my fault, due to this being the first time I ever tried using a headset. I am trying not to be to harsh in my review, because this could be a great headset, for a computer. When connected to the PS4, the volume and bass boost dial do absolutely nothing. When trying to use it for voice comms, I could only the voices, with nothing else and I'm guessing that this was due to the noise canceling headphones, which kind of defeats the purpose of using it for voice comms only. Either hear your friends, or hear your game, unless you set it up to hear both through the headset, which then caused it to get choppy and a bit laggy. I ended up returning these and getting the Playstation Platinum series after reading that they allow 3d surround sound through the Ps4. Again, this could be a great headset, if using it on a computer, and not worrying about the giant warning that Windows 10 pops up when installing drivers, however I am unsure, because I didn't want to take the chance. ... show more

  • Ok headphones with major flaws
Style: Over Ear - VR Color: Black
The sound is fine but constant creaking from the aluminum backs get annoying. If you move your neck at all, weather it be the cord coming out of the headset or the stiff headband readjusting itself, a booming creaking sound will echo throughout your ear. Even a light tap will cause the headset to make a vibrating noise. The software brings little to nothing to the table as most of them tend to muddy out important sound ques. Also occasionally the headset will just not work for 4 minutes. Not even unplugging and plugging will fix it. You'll need to just sit there and wait for sound to come back. The microphone is finicky as it can pick up my keyboard but can barely hear me. I've spent hours adjusting my microphone volume and sensitivity but still have not found a definitive solution. And for some reason what would be 50% volume on one headset will be only 10% volume on this one, which doesn't make sense. I also have an issue with the comfort, or lack of comfort. I've been this headset constantly over 3 months and I still have issues with the thin padding and hard headband. It feels like the headset just squeezes on my head and the headband just digs into my skull, and after a while the tip of my ears start to hurt from pressing against the plastic. I could readjust the pads to alleviate that issue but doing so will lead to a lessened noise cancellation effect. ... show more

  • Expect them to not work like you want and possibly die right after the return window.
Style: Over Ear - VR Color: Black
Today, less than a week after the return window closed for my purchase these headphones just stopped working. It is definitely a hardware issue as nothing was changed and suddenly the device was not showing up in the device manager. It was showing up as an unknown usb device that wasn't getting information from the device. Furthermore, when I first got them the software was hard to find and in the end it didn't even work. There is almost no support, so in the end they are not worth it. Also, I found the fit uncomfortable and not adjustable. They rubbed the backs of my ears raw if I used them for more than an hour. ... show more
