I've used these to hold up a frame, keep a rug in place, and hang my EZ Pass on my car. So, yeah, they have lots of versatility. They also are quite strong. In the case of my rug, I have a piece of carpet at the top of my deck steps that the included non-slip, was slipping. I attached two long strips of this set (one to each end) and it's just not moving. I'm not sure how well they'll stay if I have to remove and clean the rug, but I'm not even thinking about that. The only issue I have with these is that it can be very difficult to get the cover off the sticky side. I found that pulling in from a corner made it a little easier to get them started. But I'm not deducting points for that. Overall, this is a great product, and I'll probably be getting more. I can highly recommend this product. ... show more

These hook and eye pieces aren't bad for rugs and such, to keep them in place. I did have some trouble with the plastic backs, as a few others did. Unfortunately there's not much to be done about that, though. When reviewing the site asked about how they are for hardwood floors and I can say I would not use these on hardwood; I'd be too concerned about damaging the stain and finish on the wood. I would personally only use these on surfaces that can't be damaged by adhesives, such as on tile or linoleum. ... show more

    • These hook-and-loop fasteners are perfect for unusual situations.
I ordered these because I have some high shelves in my home with breakable items and other items that might hurt someone if they fell off, and have found over time that just normal vibrations can move things very close to the edge without my noticing. These fasteners are the perfect solution, as the backing is very thin, the adhesive is strong and they can be cut to fit most any shape or size for small-ish items. They offer enough anchoring to solve the problem. I have not tried to remove the fasteners from the surface they are attached to, so I can't speak to whether or not removing them would damage a finish. In my case, the shelves are well above eye level so even it the finish were damaged it would not be noticed. I like that these aren't just tape, but rather Velcro so the rug can still be removed to wash it (or the floor). This is a great feature. Overall I'm happy with them. They work great. Recommended.

I used these to attach the rug to the floor. It kept scooting all over and I had tried various rug backing things but they never worked. So I velcroed the sucker! I stuck one side in the floor and the other to the rug on 2 corners and now my rug doesn’t move at all but I can still pick it up to wash it when I want to. I did have to eventually glue the rug side on, the adhesive didn’t stick that well on the rug back which was expected. It’s not made to stick to fabric. The pieces are good size but can be cut to the exact size you need. They stick really well on the hard surface of the tile floor. They could be sewn on to something too for fabric use. Great solution for keeping rugs/mats in place on hardwood/tile floors. In the past, I have used other options, mainly double sided "stickers", but those all have eventually failed, and stopped working. I am hoping that these are adequate replacements. I got these carpet grippers to prevent my hallway runner rug from sliding around on my hardwood floor. INSTALLATION: Getting the plastic covers off of the adhesive pads was a tiny nightmare. My nails were too short to be able to grip them easily, and it was really hard to loosen an edge enough to pull it off. It took me maybe 15 minutes to remove the 8 pieces of plastic I needed to remove to secure the rug at each of its four corners. Once the plastic was off, though, it was very easy to attach the grippers to the rug and then press them onto the floor. FUNCTION: I’ve only had them installed for a few days, but so far, they’ve kept the runner rug in the hallway firmly in place, and in a very high-traffic area (I live with my partner, a large dog, and three cats, and the rug connects the common area to two bedrooms and a bathroom). So, they are effectively fulfilling their primary function! NOTE: I made sure to sweep the hallway clean prior to installing the rug + grippers. CLEANING & REAPPLYING: I am a little concerned about the fact that I’ll need to wash my rug at some point, and I’ll have to remove the carpet grippers to do that (or else the adhesive may come out in the wash). I figure they’ll be less sticky each time I have to clean the rug and reapply the grippers. Overall, I would recommend these carpet grippers, although I’m removing a star due to (1) the difficulty of removing the plastic from the adhesive and (2) the likelihood of decreasing stickiness each time I have to remove and reapply the grippers in order to clean the rug. ... show more
