I liked the fact that when you open the tools the lock in nicely with a little latch to release them. Some people complained that you need to open the pliers to get to the other tools, but for me this is a good safety feature and keeps things nice and tightly together.

Ordered this for $8 and that seems about right. This is essentially a pair of folding pliers with some additional subpar tools that fold into the handle. None of the tools lock, which is a significant negative. Unlike most multitools, the additional functions are all on a single side of each of the handles and are only available when unfolded in pliers mode. Despite arriving well lubricated (perhaps overly so), the tools are unusually difficult to pry out (at least to start). On the plus side, unlike other super cheap multitools, the pliers have a spring and don't have uncomfortable ridges on the handle. But, the tool selection is bare bones and, apart from a decently sharp small knife, nothing remarkable. This item is slightly smaller than most of these tools and seems lighter, too -- which could be a pro or a con, depending on if we are talking weight or durability. It seems thinner than most when in the pouch, too, which is kind of nice. Definitely a get what you pay for proposition. Not junk, but not a great value, either. ... show more

I was going camping and didn't want to chance losing my Leatherman multi tool so I picked up this 14 in 1 Multitool for $11. I thought I was buying a one and done disposable but boy was I wrong! This thing is super sturdy while still allowing for the tools to be open and used with ease. I'll admit it's not as buttery smooth out of the box as my Leather man but for a fraction of the price I'm not complaining. I gave it a few sprays of PB Blaster over night and then wiped it down really well and it is a true champ with all the tools and features I needed! ... show more

    • Keeping perspective that it's a $12 multitool
I initially was not very impressed with the sturdiness or initial user experience with this tool, but then I recalled that this is a $12 item. With that in mind, it gets a lot of credit for value. I decided to keep this as a backup tool on my golf cart, but would not use it as my primary multitool. Out of the package, it was covered in oil This is great so it did not arrive rusty, but bad to get oil all over your hands right before you start opening and closing sharp blades. I wiped the casing down pretty good, washed my hands to prevent a painful slip and began to check it out. When I first went to fold one of the tools out, I noticed the old familiar recess in the casing where you can stick a fingernail to get the specific tool out was missing. Instead, the fingernail groove on the tool is facing inward and is difficult to get a nail into. Once I unfolded one of the knife blades, two to three other tools would also start opening. This happened multiple times. Seems that the case is too tight on the hinges. It definitely was not from a lack of oil on the tools. Next, I noticed that the casing has quite a bit of flex. For example, if you fold the tool closed and squeeze a little, it will misalign the two sides and snap in too far but then pops back out. No major issues and nothing that would prevent me from recommending this. It also comes with a case, which is a plus to keep dirt and debris from getting into it. This review is of the UMEINAC TECH 18 in 1 Camping Multitool Axe, Professional Emergency Camping Accessories Survival Gear Outdoor Compact Axe Multi-Tool Gadgets for Men ...and WOMEN. I own several multi-tools designed for specific tasks. I have one designed specifically for my motorcycle and fits in my pocket. Another one I own is designed to use while installing electrical components, wires, lugs, etc. I even have one for gardening. I paid over $100 for a name-brand multi-tool. It is the best one that I have. I've seen that some reviewers don't quite understand multi-tools. They're often very good at accomplishing a range of tasks within the given parameters but are certainly not the best tool for each task. I mean if you're going to chop down a tree, then a large axe is a better tool than the Umeinac. Or, even better, use a chainsaw. If you need to repair an electrical connection, then a pair of Lineman pliers will work better than the Umeinac. Yes, there are even better tools than Lineman pliers for specific tasks. My point is that you can't chop down a tree with a pair of Lineman pliers, and you can't service an electrical connection with a large axe. But, with time you can accomplish both with the Umeinac. That said, the Umeinac has many, many more features that will help you to accomplish a wider range of tasks than I mentioned above. And it can attach to your belt or fit in your jacket pocket. So far, I'm pretty impressed with this tool. I'll include a picture of a similar multi-tool that I own for comparison. It's smaller than the Umeinac. I've used it dozens, and dozens of times to drive nails, pull nails, bend metal, and several other things. Again, multi-tools are designed to fit in a small space and to accomplish several different tasks. Not to be the best at everything. They're often great in emergencies. At the current price of $14.99 I think this tool is an excellent value, IMHO. ... show more
