I do like this rod for cranking, it’s pretty solid and gives enough strength to pull in crank baits. I will say however the tip of the Rod was broken when I received it so I had to buy some replacement tips.

I had to come back for a new review as I have bought 2 more of these rods. Started with the 7'5 heavy. A great rod for frogging. Caught a huge snapping turtle on it and the thing survived. Then I bought the 7' cranking rod. Came in perfect condition but not in a box. Just the thin plastic bag. Maybe this was to make sure the folks at Amazon were gentle. I also ordered the 7'9 cranking rod. That one had some trouble in shipping and was sent back the first time and I was refunded. A new on is on the way now. Edit: the 7,9 was broken again during shipping. Its literally not in a box. They just throw a raw fishingpole in a bag that's thinner than a zip lock, into the back of a UPS truck. Very bad way to secure my product.... ... show more

I retired my extreme 7'4 Bass Pro Shop crankbait rods after almost 20 yrs let's just say I got my money's worth out of them so I got one of these two of these one 7'9 and one 7'4 crankbait rods I think they're fiberglass and graphite I just used it a couple times but I love them I guess time will tell about durability though but that's all I got for now ... show more

I actually loved this rod for casting cranks. You could really whip it for some long casts. Light and sensitive. Unfortunately, after less than a year and after a handful of uses the top 10 inches snapped off on a 4 pounder. So devastating. I want another one but I'm hesitant now. Not sure of it's worth trying again or not. ... show more
