  • Surprisingly durable, needs a few improvements
Style: No Sidewall Color: Green
This 12' x 20' canopy has survived 3 windstorms, and does OK with up to 8" light snow, and that's with both 6" and 1' extensions on the legs. I do have it anchored to a nearby tree, and put my own 25 lb. weights on 4 corners, which have moved a couple feet in a strong gust, so I just poured in-ground concrete footings with tie down loops. The weight bags it comes with fit loosely so you'd need a way to tie or clamp them to be effective. The 8 plastic tarp hooks and elastic broke the first year, so first I duct taped them, then I got a grommet kit and put in 2 grommets with bungees on each pole held with an SS clamp. The 2" extension bolts rusted and stuck out, so I've replaced the 16 of them with SS 1-3/4" bolts with cap nuts. The corner brace brackets just fit loosely on the pipes, and the 4 lower ones filled with water and caused streaks of rust. So I drilled drain holes in those 4, and caulked them well into place with clear RV caulk, so they stay dry inside and resist sliding. I added a bamboo diagonal brace and now it's quite firm and sturdy. The ball and bungee system is quick to put up, but if you get much snow, it creates a dip right above the cross bar, so it's better to run the bungees over the bar, and also coat the tarp with 303 or silicone spray to help snow slide off. One end did collapse when we got 9" of heavy snow and I didn't pull it off in time. The end I tied nylon cord across did not collapse, so this year I'm adding ratchet straps all around. I was able to straighten or shorten the 10 poles that got bent. I added 2' plumbing pipes, glued in with JB weld, to get it high enough to back the camper under it on the truck. This is a very sturdy frame, great corner brackets, good quality tarp, just needs reinforcement if you get extreme weather. ... show more

  • Very nice!
Style: Window Sidewall Color: Green
Was due to arrive 1/16 but arrived two days early. My daughter and I put it together the next day. Took us about an hour to assemble the frame and put the cover on. All went very well. Today I put the bungees on, the sides drove the stakes in and added the guy ropes. Things I liked. The bungees are the right size, they are stretched tight when installed. That way the top will not sag and collect water when the elastic is gone from the bungees. The sides and ends are fastened to the poles with bungees not velcro. The stakes are 5/16” in diameter and 11 1/2” long. Very substantial. The side panels are long enough for the highest position. My ground was unlevel so I was able to use the various extensions to get the carport level. The sides have the little tabs and loops to shorten them up if you use the lowest height. I still haven’t quite finished up the odds and ends but am really impressed with this carport. A lot of thought went into the design. I am using it for my outdoor cooking area and picnic table. One other thing. It does not have a seam at the center ridge pole but seams on either side of it. That ridge is a high stress and wear point so this design should help that problem. Both ends can be unzipped for entry and air flow in hot weather. The guy rope supplied is braided polyethylene about 3/8” in diameter. The cover fits very tight, which should prevent sagging along with the bungees. Nothing i dislike about it. ... show more

  • Great if maintained!
Style: No Sidewall Color: Gray
I had a similar tent to this one (but less sturdy) that lasted 4 years in a 4 season climate. As long as you clear the snow and strap it down WELL, it will last a long time. With that being said, after 1-2 years the tarp will condensate and lose much of its waterproofing. Also, the main image for this is misleading as it shows the legs of the frame as being thicker than the rest. All the framing pieces are the same size and they are rather flimsy. But then again, what do you expect for $350?? I highly recommend this product, just install it correctly and maintain it! ... show more

  • Very sturdy and good quality great customer support
Style: with Sidewall Color: Green
These tents/canopies are very good quality and you cannot go wrong buying one. I have had mine now for over 3 years. UPDATE: Recently we had some very strong winds, over 50 mph. Two of my tents got demolished. I contacted the seller and found out there are replacement parts available. So I ordered a bunch of poles and canopy pieces. The hole thing took a week and at very little cost. I had to order 16 poles, both ends and a top. 200.00, what a bargin. This time around I have moved them, strengthened the floor and installed floor to wall supports with eye bolts and rope. I put them end to end and sprayed an expanding foam between the two. I have purchased 4 of these so far and another on order. Two of them have lasted 3 years and are still very strong. Through sub zero, over 110 degrees, snow, hail, rain and heavy winds. Very easy to put together, takes me, one guy, about 2.5 hours to put together. I built wooded floors for two of them and attached the poles to the floor. They are very secure. The other one I secured to the ground using some steel fence posts. The other one is free standing but attached to one of the others using zip ties. I bought one from Costco, it is still okay after 2 years, but not the same quality. I had to push up from the inside to remove the heavy snow loads. Used a 2x4 horizontally to push up on the roof. Snow came of right away and the ceiling tarp stood strong. I would not hesitate for anyone to buy one of these. But like anything you buy, care is needed to get the longevity out of the tents. If you live in areas of strong winds or snow, no tent is a good idea unless you reinforce it. This winter I am putting stringers in the roof in the older tents in case we get a bunch of snow. ... show more

  • Collapsed in 6 Months
Style: Window Sidewall Color: Green
The media could not be loaded. This is a great product if you have perfect weather all the time. Was shipped and showed up on time, fair price. I love in coastal South Carolina and very rarely have winter weather, this year we got snow one day and in the morning my canopy had collapsed on top of my boat. We only got 4 inches of snow over one night and this did not hold up. Purchased July 2024, collapsed January 2025 = 6 months of use. ... show more
