    • Wire harnesses loose on motors
I installed these gearboxes on a yamaha raptor 700r. They worked great after I replaced the wire harnesses with the originals because one would not match the factory harness. I also noticed that the motor leads on the new gearboxes seemed to be a smaller gauge wire, I didn't care so much about that but I would suggest removing the heat shrink from the terminals on the motor, then add a small amount of solder to each terminal if you decide to go with this gearbox. Inspect the factory gearbox to see the soldered terminals. Even with an hour or so of agrivation these gearboxes were well worth it. My rider is rough on this yamaha, we have very steep terrain which he uses to his advantage to wreak havoc on this toy, so far they have held up and seem to be the same as the factory gearbox with the exception of the motor lead wire harness. ... show more

    • Wrong connector and smaller gauge wire
I read reviews before ordering so I'm not totally dissatisfied. Yet. The motor on the left side has wrong connector as some other reviews noted. I had to splice the old connector to make it work. The wiring is a smaller gauge which can result in overheating the wiring and motor windings. I could have possibly just switched the complete motor harnesses with the old harnesses. That would have solved the concern with the wrong connector and wiring gauge. But I'm realizing that possibility two weeks later! AAAHH! With all that said the wheeler has worked several days now without fault. ... show more

    • Wrong connection for left gear box
Right connector was correct, left was not. I ended up using the wire and connector from the original stock gearbox and rewiring it to the new one in order to make it function.
