I'm currently assembling this, waiting on a second set of hands to put it up. The cedar wood is lightweight and stained a nice color. The one issue with my set is that there were no pre-drilled holes. The rounded rafters at the top are three pieces each and are screwed together and you will need to make sure that they are pretty much identical, so you'll likely need to identify where you need to pre-drill some holes or make sure you are able to screw every rafter piece in the same location. The packaging consisted of three boxes that were easy to unpack and organize. I'm always skeptical about ordering Chinese products that need assembly from Amazon due to my experience with missing pieces or wrong pieces. The kit was a missing a couple of bolts but nothing major that couldn't be picked up at a local hardware store. ... show more

My husband assembled this himself within a couple hours. Will need two people when you first start the trusts. It was easy to assemble and we are happy with it. Adds the perfect touch to our deck/pool area. My husband was a little skeptical on quality of wood with it being lighter than we expected but the pillers are heavy duty and it has been holding up nicely. Would buy again ... show more

Overall we're fairly happy with this considering the price, but the size advertised is not the size of the inside "walking" area, it's the size of the top cover area. So the posts didn't end up where we expected. Also, we sealed this with Thompsons water sealer upon arrival, but even still the wood is already showing signs of wear and cracking. The manufacturing also needs work, nearly half of the pre-drill holes were not drilled at all, and many of the ones that were drilled were at bad angles that caused the screws to go through the wood, and in general it wasn't made to fit together perfectly, so some carpentry skills may be required to put this up. We ended up needing to make some adjustments to make it fit together correctly. But in the end it looks ok and we hope it lasts at least a few years to make it worthwhile. ... show more

Took about 4 hours to put up between 2 people. Had to use my own concrete anchors to fasten into the concrete since my package didn’t come with some. The wood has very nice finish but it’s mostly hollow. Still would buy again if I could. Great product for the price.

It took some time to assemble, instructions could be better about where to combine pieces but went together well. This unit was strong and sturdy through hurricane Helene! I will be attaching it to my concrete pad at some point.

The Pergola looks nice enough when finished. It’s a bit of an Amazon special, a few of the top pieces are off center. However, after we had put it together we realized it wasn’t the size we had ordered. I ordered the 12x14, but what I received is 10x12 at the widest points of the base posts. So it’s either the pergola is smaller than advertised, or I was sent the wrong one. Seller has refused to work with us to rectify the mistake in any way. Order at your own risk, or better yet, pay a little more and order from Home Depot or somewhere with a better customer service policy and more accurate measurements. ... show more

I am overall happy with this pergola. It looks nice and was not difficult to assemble- it took my husband and I about 5-6 hours and we only needed additional help when standing the posts to place the top headers. I would have given this 5 stars except the size wasn’t quite what I expected. I ordered the 12x14… but that is the size measuring the top. The inside area between the posts is only 12x10 so it is slightly smaller than I expected.
