Our Elf on the Shelf delivered this on December 13th and oh wow, did I have fun with my sick kids playing the first game! It was a bunch of silly challenges (my 10 year old commented that they were similar to YouTube challenges, which is a good thing!) and we had fun! My 4 year old daughter only did the cookie challenge where we placed the cookie on our foreheads and had to wiggle our face muscles to get it into our mouths (no hands). She loved it! My son and I had to do a cereal box challenge… hard to describe it, but we had to tear strips off each round to make it shorter and pick it up from the floor with our teeth. Anyway, very fun to do even when we were under the weather! The games called for basic things you’d probably have in your house. The weirdest thing has happened though… the box of games has disappeared! I’m dying to play more games but we can’t find it anywhere!!! I’m hoping my daughter wrapped it or something! If we never find it, I’ll have to order another box for the Elf to bring next year, it was that fun! ... show more

This was fun for my kids, 13 and 9, and mom and dad too! The games are not separated into different numbered bags within the box. You have to go through and figure it out but it's not too confusing. The back of the box shows all of the different games and an instruction book is included. I did use sticky notes to cover each game on the box then numbered randomly 1-12. Each day we just pulled of the next sticky to uncover the game of the night. Games do involve reading, writing, and drawing so, much better for older children. ... show more

Kids liked it not durable it’s flimsy but they could use it. Like the things you blow on one broke and other pieces broke when they were playing with it but they still liked it

    • There are likely better sets out there.
The box is very cheap and will likely need to be replaced. After we set down and went through the entire contents of the box, my family and I agreed we would need to buy an additional reindeer antler game set. The box included a cup and ping pong balls, but there are no game instructions for either of these items. They made good use of the cards by making multiple games out of them. We will have fun with some of these games, but had expected more from this purchase. ... show more

This little box packs with a powerful punch of fun for All Ages! This was my go-to box for quick and easy entertainment, used for several parties I hosted over the holidays. No matter what the maturity level of the audiences, I can honestly say a good time was had by all: from my 8-year old niece to a 14-year old teen — and then there was my 80-year old mother — all laughing and playing along. Oh yeah, I even pulled out the Santa Letters game for an office party in between! Are the items overpriced? Played this for a small Christmas party with just adults and we loved it. Granted, we didn’t get to play all the games but we had fun with the few we did play. Sure some of the jokes are pretty corny etc. but it’s really up to you to make it fun or not. We put some of our own twists and rules for some of the games and it was a blast. It’s a great game for a party because it gives you fun simple ideas you can run with instead of trying to do long complicated lots of prep type games that can get old, it keeps it simple short and fun. With the right group and an imagination this game can be great. So ignore all the negative nellies i here and get it!! ... show more

    • Fun and lots of laughter!
These games were a lot of fun for my husband, father-in-law and I on Boxing Day! We laughed and laughed and totally enjoyed ourselves. My father-in law, age 90+ was a bit down in the dumps that he really isn't up to the family's decades long Boxing Day tradition of going for an energetic hike in the mountains on Boxing Day afternoon. I brought this box of holiday themed games out and he and my husband grudgingly agreed to play "just one game" but one game turned into 3.5 hours of raucous fun! The next day, he told us he had an ache in his sides from laughing so much yet still asked for a rematch on the one game he'd lost the day before and made me promise to bring the games back next Christmas.
