I got this for use on my Old Town Predator (pedal kayak)....it is perfect. Kayak and gear weigh over 100# and this cart just slides in underneath and allows me to singlehandedly roll the unit up and down 20 stone steps at my Maine cottage....plus easy manuevering on the beach, in the storage sheds, etc. Great product....very sturdy ... show more

The wheels come off real easy. I live close to the water and pull the kayak down the street for about a mile or so. I can take the wheels off and collapse the cart to fit in the kayak’s storage hatch. For my purposes, the strap is not needed at all. I cut it off.

I purchased this item after researching many different Kayak Carts. This cart says it is durable and can carry up to 165 lbs. I have an Old Town Top Water 106 PDL that weighs 95 lbs. After the third use, the wheels bent so far and then finally one broke off while I was attempting to cart my kayak back to my truck. This was on a gravel road to an old concrete boat ramp so not the most gnarly of off roaring with a kayak cart. The Cart straps began rubbing on the wheels. I re adjusted the kayak on the cart and noticed the wheels were bent so badly that they were almost touching the hull. I had another 50 feet to go and tried to pull the rest of the way. The kayak cart collapsed under the kayak and I had to carry the kayak the last 30 or 40 feet to the truck. This cart is not designed well and Light weight aluminum that makes a 90 degree bend is not even close to strong enough for a 100lb kayak, let alone 165 lbs... The seller did respond quickly asking for pictures so they could make it better, but when I asked them how to proceed for a refund they gave me a generic, “contact amazon customer support” response. I guess I have to ship it back to them and hope I receive a refund. Fortunately this happened so quickly that I am still within the return window. To sum this up, I would definitely not recommend this cart for anyone who has a kayak heavier than they can carry by themselves. Maybe it’s useful on pavement with a very light weight Kayak, just beware that you may end up having to carry your kayak without the use of the cart. Not something I’m willing to do with a 100lb kayak. ... show more

It rolls good, but is not wide enough,for “Jackson kayaks “ it’s over priced for what you get,ended up welding an extra peace on so I could get the right Length , the lock down screw Collapsed the inner axle which is important,because it’s supposed to stop the axle from sliding back and forth
