This heater was very cheaply made and only lasted about 5 uses before melting and falling apart. I am an engineer and I think the root cause of the issue is that the plastic "handle" is made from a plastic with an inappropriately low melting point that is not thermally insulated enough from the heating element. Heat from the heating element quickly melted the plastic and then the whole unit became dangerously loose. The first symptom was the mounting clip became loose. Eventually the heating element fell out. See pics. I would love my money back, but I guess I waited too long before I used it and now that doesn't seem to be an option. With the proper materials and design, this could have been a good product. It definitely heated well. ... show more

It works well, considering being a smaller size. Heats up the water fast. Kinda flimsy but just tighten the screws and it's good to go. Not bad for the price. So pretty satisfied..

i reccomend spending a little more on somthing nicer. i wish i had got the one that can be fully emerged into water. this one if not fully submereged gets red hot and starts to melt itself

    • Yet Another Chinese Product That's NOT AS DESCRIBED
Unfortunately this has become more common than not anymore with Chinese products sold online. They are routinely not as described. Following are the several ways this one isn't: 1) Not stainless steel but regular metal with a super thin electroplating of a shiny chrome-type coating which is literally already rusting after fewer than 10 uses. 2) Not 1000 watts. I've plugged it into a testing meter twice and it averaged ~825 watts. 3) Product Dimensions says it's only 5 inches long but it's actually 12+ inches = a very big difference! Lastly, I'll mention the quality. For such a large/heavy immersion heater (as I mentioned above, it's over 12 inches long and mostly metal) the plastic housing is far too small and flimsy to support the length and weight. As a result, the metal portion is immediately coming loose and detaching from the plastic housing. Based on all of the above, there is literally nothing I would recommend about this immersion water heater. Avoid. ... show more
