  • Low Expectations, Impressed Anyway
Size: 128GB
NOTE: Pictures are of keyboard. Was not included in initial purchase. 05/23/2019 - The company sent me an offer for one of several items if I'd write a review - regardless of rating I'd get the item. So I sent them my review. Took a couple of tries because their email doesn't seem to like embedded pictures. They got it after I attached the pics separately, and I got the keyboard a few days later. Like the device, the keyboard is an extremely good value. I mean, it would be even if it was like $30-$50, but since it was "free", it was outstanding. :-) Anyway, the keyboard is very nice. It's light and solidly made, has all the functions one would expect and more. It has a touchpad (which you can turn on/off with a function key) which also does pinch-zoom and two-finger scrolling. The keys work well and are nicely space, and there's even arrow keys. No room for a 10-key of course. The keyboard is part of a "cover" which is a soft-cover, and I wondered why it didn't stick to the back, until I realized it has "folds" built in which you can fold together to make the device stand up. It's pretty clever really - I'll see if I can get a pic, as it's hard to describe, but basically it has magnets that if you stick them together, the rest of it folds into a triangular shape giving you a "stand". Having used the device more since my initial review, I'm even more impressed with it. The battery is better than expected, and even with a processor that's weaker than I'm used to (all my laptops have i7's) it still performs very well. I've set it up several different ways, reset, and set up again with no problems. It doesn't appear to charge through the USB, but I can live with that. The charger is fine. Since it only has 64GB storage, I put in a 128GB SD card, and that too works fine. As always, the primary drive should be used for program installs (because it's faster) and the SD card for storage (and programs that don't need to load/access as quickly). I don't know what the max card size is, but 128GB is working fine for me. 02/08/2019 - This tablet is pretty darn good for the price. I wanted a cheap one so I could give Windows "as a tablet" a real try when I decided to replace my Android tablet. The good news is that it seems to work just fine, for what it is. What it is, is a cheap Windows tablet. It seems to work about as well as a weak i3 desktop would, meaning it does everything, but if you're used to a powerful machine, this one may "feel" slow. And of course, you won't be able to run graphics-intensive games or open a dozen programs and expect them all to work well. The battery life was pretty good. And it threw to MiraCast just fine, as well as accepting keyboards & mice. I installed Office 365 and about 40 other apps, and all ran okay including VPN, a few games, some other productivity programs, etc. For me, Windows as a casual "home" tablet simply doesn't work. All too often I had to find the stylus to "click" on things, and the majority of the apps are simply awful for home/casual use. So after having this for a few weeks I bought a new Android tablet to replace the old one. This does NOT constitute a failure on this tablet's side. The tablet works as expected - like a PC. ... show more

  • Runs Win11 "S" mode by default; Only runs items downloaded from MS AppStore, unless...
Size: 128GB
...you disable it. Contacted the Vendor, and they never mentioned it could be disabled. One star given because of the hours and frustration involved due to the lack proper information regarding the device during the purchasing process and the minimal support after the purchase. Now, the rest of the story: Issues: Yes, I am a very biased user. I have UNIX, Linux, and MS OS administration experience. If you want an inexpensive "entertainment toy" that only runs stuff from the Microsoft App store(including their browser and their version of word, spreadsheet, and), and you don't mind being REQUIRED to have a "Microsoft on-line account" or being forced to pay the subscription for O365 (and, dare I say it, soon for the operating system itself?), you'll probably love it. You will need a keyboard and a mouse to use it effectively for any of the supplied office product (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel). So count on spending another $40USD to $80USD. The OS on the tablet is associated with your Microsoft account...not sure what that might mean later with respect to giving it to someone (family member, etc.), donating, or selling it. The new "owner" Might be required to purchase a new OS. Just something to consider if these are some of your thoughts regarding the purchase. My Needs and Interaction with Fusion5 I simply needed a device with physical USB and HDMI ports and run a simple stage timer program that I purchased many years ago - and no, there was no equivalent in the MS App store. I didn't need a network connection or anything. That being stated, if you want it for non-mind numbing purposes, you have two choices. Get something with a full operating system (or an Apple device) or disable the "S" mode. There are several videos on line that discuss how to do this. I spent HOURS trying to get a "non-verified" program to work on this thing as the inexpensive tablet I was using and it wasn't until I ran a command shell window that the OS finally stated that it was in S mode. I contacted the folks at Fusion5, explained exactly what I needed to do with the tablet, and ended with, "If I can't do this, the unit useless to me" and I'll need to return it. How do I reset to factory settings". Resetting didn't even work as the OS requested the source OS installation files! What I Ultimately Found I was fiddling with it today to figure out how to clear it (was on the verge of using the format command) and stumbled on a way to turn off the "S" mode and finally got the program I needed to run for a business conference last weekend(yes, AFTER I needed it) to work. Questions So, my question to the folks at Fusion5, why don't you document somewhere that the tablet CAN be taken out of S mode? And Amazon, why isn't it in the description that this is intended for entertainment purposes or, if you purchase the subscription to O365 (monthly charges) and that ONLY Microsoft Verified (e.g. locked to the MS-App store) can be run? Two questions of a somewhat legal perspective come to my mind; Anti-trust violations on the OS part(although, they do give themselves an "out" with the ability turn S mode off...but...; "Bait and switch" (e.g. states Windows 11, but neglects to make the full statement that it has "restrictions" on the Amazon description side (although, I do understand that Amazon takes boiler plate from the vendors - Maybe vendor descriptions should be vetted more appropriately). If you have gotten this far, I sincerely hope you see this as a fair assessment given the reason for my purchase in the first place. If you are Amazon or Fusion5, in the future, please pay more attention to the product descriptions (by the way, I see information lacking on many products here on Amazon and affiliated vendor websites) especially when a product advertises something Windows 11, as one expects the full product, not a product with reduced features or capabilities. ... show more

  • Great little tablet
Size: 256GB
Needed to replace an old iPad, but wanted one with more connectivity. I always disliked that there was only a lightning port. The Fusion 5 solves that problem as there is a number of choices built in. As one who is not tech savvy, the fusion 5 set up easily and synced all my files from my laptop. While I've only been using the tablet for a couple of days, I'm very pleased with its performance. Since both my laptop and the tablet run windows 11, everything has been running seamlessly, all word docs and spread sheets. You certainly get a lot of bang for your buck with the Fusion 5. ... show more

  • Functuality and Value
Size: 256GB
Ease of use has me baffled somewhat. I can turn it on and use it as is; but I cannot link it to my laptop computer so that I can access my needs from either one. I am not computer savvy. Also, I don't like Microsoft Edge which is default on almost any computer you buy; I use a different browser but I cannot access that browser on this computer. I downloaded it but don't know how to get it to be default browser. None of this is the computer's fault, it's me and my lack of knowledge. I'm going to get my service provider to help me with these details. Clarity of picture is sharp and clear. Value is wonderful; EVERYTHING is wonderful. ... show more
