This is a great grit set. The materials are high quality. Decent quantity as well. The polishing stones are not in every kit you buy. Its really good they have it in this. They included some high quality rocks as well. My complaints: 1. The spoon that came with it has no measurement. It would have been much better if they included a tablespoon measuring spoon. 2. There aren't really instructions. There are tips that are on the side of the box. You'll need to rely on the instructions that came with your tumbler for complete directions. This comes with all the different grits you might need to use and polish rocks. The instructions explain it okay but I’d suggest watching some videos beforehand. This is a set of various types of grit and polishing material that is used inside the rock tumbler to turn rough gemstones into colorful, polished treasures. Many rocks look very boring in their natural state but when turned for a long period of time in a rock tumbler, with the proper grit, they can look incredible. This kit includes four different types of grits in a four-step system that progresses to finer grit, much like sandpaper works. There are also two bags of what is called rock tumbler media, which are hard, rock-like beads that can be placed in the tumbler to also help polish. The presence of nearly six different types of materials means you can work in a very versatile way with a large number of stones. There is a surprise free gift inside the case as well! It is a sealed bag of rough gemstones, most of which look pretty good already but are going to look incredible once tumbled. There is also an adorable small shovel-shaped spoon for working and scooping the grit. Overall this product makes a fine gift for anyone into rock tumbling, and is also an essential purchase for anyone who is also buying the tumbling machine. You will need the items in this kit in order to successfully work the tumbler. You can't just throw rocks in it and hope for the best. I am very satisfied with this product, not only are the materials great, but the packaging and the thoughtful free gift lets me know I am dealing with a quality company and that I can trust these items. This past spring I ordered a rock tumbler at the request of my adult children. We all enjoyed tumbling the included rocks and some of their rock collection they had gathered as kids. But unfortunately the tumbler didn't include enough of the grit to process more than a couple of batches of rocks. When I had the opportunity to order this set I was very excited. This set not only includes a good amount of all four stages of grit, it also has rock tumbling media pellets and polishing beads. The pellets and beads were not included with the tumbler set up, and they are reusable. As a bonus, this set also includes a small bag of stones to tumble and an adorable metal shovel scoop for your grit. The entire set comes packaged in a nice looking box that would make it suitable for gifting. It would make a wonderful add on gift in addition to a tumbler. The box even includes a chart of tumbling times on one side and tips for successful tumbling on the other, which makes it worth keeping. Now we can finally work our way through tumbling the stones we have hoarded over the years. And better yet, we have an excuse to go rock hunting even more.
