Perhaps I'm biased from previously sleeping atop a foam mattress with a very squishy memory foam topper, but this mattress initially felt like sleeping on the floor by comparison. A carpeted floor, but a floor nonetheless. After a few weeks it started to feel less floor-like, but I would still in no universe call this "medium." I would call it FIRM with a capital F. And a capital I, R and M. I got it for temporary use and it's fine now but if I were to use it long-term, I would definitely have to use a soft topper with it. The mattress is comfortable and was delivered vacuum sealed. The odor was not strong and dissipated within a few days. The mattress is fairly lightweight and provides ample amount support for being only 6 inches. We have a twin bed and use it on that bed. I got this mattress for my 4-year-old when she graduated to a big girl bed. It fluffed up quickly and didn't have a bad chemical smell for a long time like some of the foam mattresses do. It is easy to lift and change the sheets. I would not recommend it for an adult for an everyday (or every night) sleep, but it works perfectly for a child. This 6-in memory foam mattress is very comfortable considering it is thinner than many mattresses that I've had in the past. I would say it would probably work best in a kids room although it could also be good for truckers. It would fit perfectly in the back of a sleeper cab. I don't know if it would be the best for a large individual, but it is also possibly good as a topper for another mattress. Just to add some extra support. Great for a trundle bed or a hide a bed, even a bunk bed. Comes in a box, take it out of the package and let it sit out for 24 hours and it will expand to the 6 inches and give you the mattress in its entirety, make sure you have it rolled out so that it can expand.
