I bake quite a bit of sourdough, a hold out from the pandemic days, so I need a fair number of bannetons. These work quite well for what they’re supposed to do. However, I did notice some kind of chemical smell when I first opened them. They might have absorbed some of the smell of the plastic wrapping. I found these to be shallower than my other baskets but still acceptable. The lining is also thinner and not as well shaped as my other branded basket and liner. However, these are also lower in price so the lower quality isn't shocking either. They do the job. It would just be really nice to know what the lining fabric content is. You'd think it'd be linen or cotton but one I have from another brand has polyester in it, which I don't really love. I wouldn't recommend using these baskets without the liners. There are places in each basket where the wood is shredding and splitting apart. They're workable for the price with the liners but not the quality of a nice basket.
