Description

Making the perfect cup of coffee is now as simple as ever. With the award winning 10 cup brew express, simply pour in the coffee grounds and let the fully programmable base take care of the rest. The unit is attached to your home's water supply through a refrigerator or under-sink supply line, and is hard wired to your home's power supply. You never have to measure the correct amount of water again. Simply select the amount of coffee you want brewed, from a single cup to a full carafe. The water is spread evenly over the coffee grounds to ensure a consistent brew every time, and brews the coffee in half the time of conventional coffee makers. A built-in pause-n-brew infrared sensor prevents overflows and allows you to remove the carafe or mug at any time, without the mess of dripping coffee collecting on the base. A fully programmable timer/clock ensures that next cup of coffee is ready and waiting at the exact moment of your choosing. For added convenience, a soft-blue nightlight makes reaching for that first cup of coffee in the morning that much easier with a touch sensitive on/off switch on the base. The recessed design saves counter space for cooking and other appliances and includes a rough-in box for wall mounting. An improved carafe design increases heat retention, allowing you to set the carafe on a table or take it to a distant room without significant heat loss. The satin chrome finish matches popular appliances. Also included is a single cup brew basket. An optional carafe lock for child protection or slide prevention in rv's and yachts is available. For homes upgrading from the 12 cup model number be-112, this unit retrofits into the same housing. A mounting plate must be purchased to complete the installation. Dl 310547.

  • LOVE IT!!!
OMG, I love this thing. I have had mine for almost 2 years now. You can tell from the picture it has a nice contemporary design. We were building a new kitchen island and had the cabinet maker build a spot for it next to the sink with a drawer below to store grounds, filters and our grinder. We had it recessed back about 4" or 5" so we would hit it with our legs when working at the island. It is great not to have to fill a coffee pot with water and additionally I was able to add a high-flow in-line water filter. It is easy to use. Pull out the filter, dump it, wash it off, put in a new filter and coffee grounds and hit brew. It makes the coffee relatively quickly and tastes good to me, but I'm not a coffee snob just an everyday drinker of the magic brew. The carafe keeps the coffee warm for a long time. Unlike the Mr. Coffee we had before, the opening is large enough that someone with skinny hands like my wife can reach in and wipe out the insides. We looked at other options but they were all either over a $1000 or ugly commercial machines that still went on the countertop but would allow for direct water. If you want a coffee maker that is good looking, will help you clear off the countertops, and very functional; then this is the machine for you. BTW I don't normally leave reviews unless it is god awful or exceptional. I just happened to see this when I was browsing and thought you might want to know the experience of someone who has had one for almost 2 years. ... show more

  • Finally, the "perfect" plumbed and built-in coffee solution
I've always wanted a plumbed coffee unit that produces coffee with the high quality taste you'd get with a Bunn or reservoir-based unit. However, the only plumb-able Bunn units are massive, ugly commercial units. I'd explored a plumbed Keurig and even a high-end built-in unit ($3000+), but neither are good solutions for fanatical coffee drinkers who prefer a pot of coffee over single-serve cups. The Brew Express checks all of these boxes and installation is easy. It looks nice and works great. The coffee it produces tastes like a Bunn, which is what I wanted (compared to a Mr. Coffee / drip maker which is slow and does not taste as good) Super happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. Can be installed in a matter of hours for a handy homeowner. In my case, I had to relocate a 2" PVC sewer vent pipe that was directly behind my desired mounting location, but I still was finished in 1 day. ... show more

  • Careful Installation
Replaced an older model. Supposed to be exact size, direct replacement. Not so. Top is domed, not flat as the older model. Also, new on/off button on the top. Be careful not to install to insure you can reach the on/off button. Other than that, quality product, good service from the manufacturer, love the coffee. Would buy it again. ... show more

  • Absolutely love it!, but I have a few tips you may want to read. Update 6/2020.
Absolutely love this coffee maker! Besides the obvious benefit of saving space, I had never realized how tedious of a chore it was to fill the water reservoir in the morning! I know, it sounds like I'm being sarcastic, and I sorta am, but it IS pretty nice. As it is pretty expensive for a coffee maker, and as there are a few reviews questioning the longevity and durability, I purchased the 3 year Canopy protection plan, as well. Almost never buy extended warranties, but it seemed like a wise idea this time. I have a few installation and prior purchase tips for anyone that may be interested. I like to have everything ready to go in advance, so I bought all my supplies before the maker arrived. Made a couple of mistakes in the process. First, when I run flexible water lines to appliances, I ALWAYS err on the side of long-term durability. Ergo, I use the much-more expensive braided steel hoses (like the ones attached to your toilet, or faucet). Don't do it, you MUST use either solid copper or flexible plastic like the cheap kits sold for ice makers. It has to be threaded through a grommet in the installation box, and the bigger braided hose won't fit. Second, and I probably should have put this first, because it's more important, the installation manual suggest tapping in to an existing outlet to provide power. It also says to use 12 gauge wire (it draws 1300 watts, IIRC). If you know electricity you already see the issue, but if not, here's the issue. Most home outlets are 15 amp circuits, running 14 gauge wire, protected by, of course, a 15 amp circuit breaker. 1300 watts at 110 volts equals approximately 12 amps. The first time you run the coffee maker and, say, a vacuum cleaner on the same circuit, your breaker will trip (thank goodness). Additionally, mixing and matching different sized wires in the same circuit is a huge no-no. Definitely not to code. I was fortunate in that I tend to go overboard (surprise! See the braided hose comment above) with my electrical work, and had an under-utilized 20 amp circuit in the basement directly below the coffee maker, so no sweat for me. Unfortunately, these details aren't mentioned in the installation manual, which I think is a pretty glaring omission. Third, for those of you with older homes (mine was built in 1927), you no doubt have plaster and lathe walls. The manual says not to use a saw to cut through the wall. Well, obviously that wont work with plaster and lathe, but I have a tip for you if you've never done it before. If you are tempted to use a reciprocating saw (Sawzall), knock yourself out. But be certain to use an orbital reciprocating saw, with a new blade. That cuts through the lathe easily. A standard recip tends to shake the lathe too much, which causes the plaster to break in places you don't want it to. Don't ask how I learned this... Finally, if you are the sort that likes to use a permanent filter, finding the right size is VERY difficult. I bought an 8-10 cup basket filter, which turned out to be too small. My wife picked up a 10-12 cup basket filter from a different manufacturer, that turned out to be exactly the same size. Too small. I can't give a suggestion on which brand/size to buy, as we gave up and decided to just use paper filters for now. Anyway, like I said, I LOVE this coffee maker. Couldn't recommend it enough. Time will tell, of course, if it holds up. But at least I have that extra 3 year warranty. Update 3/21/2018 Still love this coffee maker! Haven't had any issues at all. We are planning on moving to a different city in a coupe of years, ABSOLUTELY intend to buy another. Update 6/29/2020 Well, after 4.5 years I had to buy a new one. Problems with the original? NO! Still going strong, but I sold my house and left it behind. Just installed the new one in my new home after using a counter top type for 2 months. This morning was blissful! I do have a minor suggestion for a design improvement. The water line connection is of the metal insert / ferrule / nut type. Works just fine, but the nut is brass and the body is plastic. WAY too easy to cross thread, and if you do you're SOL until you can get a new one from the company. No, that didn't happen to me (almost, though. I was cussing for a few minutes), but in these days of Sharkbite and John Guest fittings I can't fathom why they're not used. Last, as a pie-in-the-sky thought, it would be AMAZING if Brew Express would ditch the 1980's VCR-style clock and timer controls and add IOT. Imagine waking up and requesting your coffee to start brewing as you're brushing your teeth, or whatever. Sure, you can set the timer to start at a specific time, but if you have no particular schedule then there is little value in it. I did write an email to the company requesting this a while ago, but got no response. It's too bad because they'd absolutely CRUSH the market... Alright, that's enough. Obviously I love this thing because I'm still updating my review after almost 5 years. It really is that great. ... show more

  • Poor product, the K-Cup Attachment clogs every few times you use it, spews water everywhere and leaks, sometimes ejects K-Cups!
Such a poorly designed product, already was without my machine for 4 weeks as it was sent to HQ to be fixed when the machine jammed internally. Once I got it back it got jammed once again and leaks water every time you use it, ontop of that the k-cup attachment jams every 3 cups and is very poorly designed as you need to use a knife or paper clip to clean the attachment or it will spit out your k-cup with a big puff of hot water and cover your countertop in coffee grinds. ... show more

  • Brew Express
We had been eyeballing the Brew Express for about 2 years and finally purchased it during our kitchen remodel. We turned a unused portion of our kitchen into coffee/beverage bar by adding lower cabinetry, drink fridge, reverse osmosis drinking faucet and sink and the Brew Express. After two months of use it operates flawlessly. The brewing process takes approximately 5 minutes, considerably less than traditional brewers. The stainless steel pot is also insulated making it both indestructible and convenient. Operation is simple and cleaning is a breeze compared to other complicated high end built-in systems. Our home has a whole house filtration system so in line filtration was unnecessary and the brew taste is fantastic. We absolutely love it! ... show more
